Role Overview
The Lab Systems Associate/Analyst supports laboratory operations by driving automation, data integrity, and system optimization across lab technologies and platforms. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining laboratory information systems, improving processes through digitalization and lean principles, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the position contributes to efficient lab operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and the successful delivery of projects aligned with business and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide automation expertise to improve laboratory systems, ensuring efficient data flow, integration, and standardization across platforms
  • Participate in or lead lab systems projects, including implementation of technologies such as LIMS and SDMS, and drive paperless initiatives
  • Create, review, and maintain accurate documentation (e.g., SOPs, protocols, technical specifications, and system master data)
  • Collaborate with local and global stakeholders to align on system enhancements, project execution, and business needs
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, data integrity requirements, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHSS) guidelines
  • Monitor systems and processes to identify non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and support audit readiness and reporting

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or technical discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience depending on level (Associate Analyst to Technical Expert), preferably in laboratory environments or lab systems support
  • Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, data integrity principles, and systems such as LIMS or SDMS
  • Experience in software development/programming and statistical data analysis (for junior to mid-level roles)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and advanced system or method knowledge, with ability to act as SME in audits (for experienced roles)
  • Project management capabilities and experience with continuous improvement or lean methodologies (for senior roles)
  • Strong communication, training, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently, manage deviations, and drive corrective/preventive actions

At Johnson & Johnson, we want every candidate to feel supported throughout the hiring process. Our goal is to make the experience clear, fair, and respectful of your time.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Application review: We’ll carefully review your CV to see how your skills and experience align with the role.
  • Getting to know you: If there’s a good match, you’ll be invited to a short call with one of our recruitment team to understand more about you and answer any questions that you might have.
  • Staying informed: We know waiting can be hard and processes can evolve; our recruitment team will keep you updated and make sure you know what to expect at each step.
  • Final steps: For successful candidates, you will need to complete country-specific checks before starting your new role. We will help guide you through these.

Finally, at the end of the process, we’ll invite you to share feedback in a short survey — your input helps us continue improving the experience for future candidates.
