We are searching for the best talent for Sr Environmental/Chemical Specialist to be in Evolution Free Zone, Alajuela
Purpose: Environmental/Chemical Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping JnJ CR environmental and chemical management strategy by leading critical initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance and keeping continuous improvement in environmental programs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement chemical regency day to day activities
- Assists with coordination of processes and assignments for Environmental and Chemical management areas to ensure the delivery of consistent work products.
- Ensure compliance assurance with environmental and chemical legal and company requirements, this includes air emissions, water discharge, waste management, hazardous materials, others
- Responsible for acquiring and maintaining all necessary environmental/chemical permits for the company
- Responsible to prepare and submit all required environmental reports to regulatory agencies
- Develop and implement an effective Environmental Management system based on ISO 14001 requirements
- Evaluate the potential environmental impacts of new products, processes and facility expansions
- Develop and implement the strategy for chemical use review and approval
- Develop and implement programs to reduce waste generation and promote recycling
- Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from and accredited university
- Active member (colegiado(a)) of College of Chemists of CR is highly preferred
Required:
- 5+ years of experience of Chemical/Environmental programs implementation
- 3+ years of manufacturing and/or plant experience
- Proficient written and spoken English is required
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- ISO 14001 implementation/sustaining experience
- Solid understanding of Chemical/Environmental national regulation
Preferred:
- ISO 50001, Blue Flag and LEED certification implementation/sustaining experience
- Experience in start-up /green field projects
