We are searching for the best talent for a Field Medical Advisor to be in Slovakia.
Purpose:
The role of a Field Medical Advisor (F-MA) combines the purpose of the MA and the MSL into one role. The F-MA is a therapeutic area scientific expert and a trusted scientific and collaborative business partner with a customer-facing time allocation of 50%. The F-MA is responsible for translating the MAF strategy into country specific MAF tactics (incl. IEGP) and implementing them within the assigned therapeutic area (TA) or indication. The F-MA will be the MAF representative in the cross functional Country Value Team (CVT) and will support and adjust, if needed, the overall stakeholder mapping and CVT strategy. The F-MA will also liaise with the respective EMEA medical affairs functional network. The F-MA is responsible for processing and circulating medical/scientific information and customer/market/medical insights. Within the 50% customer facing time, the F-MA is expected to proactively or reactively discuss our products, treatment trends incl. unmet medical needs, scientific insights, studies and projects with Leading Specialists (LS). All scientific information and education to health care professionals is to be provided in a fair, balanced, objective, and peer-to-peer basis and to internal partners, as required by scientific and business needs. The F-MA thus maintains a network of external relationships and documents it in the appropriate tools such as account MSL activity plan and account management plan.
You will be responsible for:
- Scientific knowledge
• Acts as a scientific expert and actively participates in international/national congresses, medical education events or comparable programs to continuously improve both scientific and practical knowledge around product and disease areas and to identify evolving scientific concepts
• Represent the primary MAF contact for the leading specialists and is considered and recognized as trusted scientific partner while building positive reputation of company and MSL team
• Accountable for reviewing SmPC, creating and updating Abbreviated information about drug as well as reviewing CMIRs/DMIRs
Medical Affairs Plan
• Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of the Medical Affairs Plan incl. monitoring of the medical budget
• Accountable for organizing MESC-meetings to identify medical education needs, tailoring the content of medical education programs based on the MESC-feedback and finally executing the medical education activities according to the MAF-plan
External stakeholder management
• Close collaboration with key Leading Specialists on a peer-to-peer level to identify customer needs to tailor MAF activities such as round tables, Ad boards, medical education activities or related medical projects
• Has an oversight over all research-centers and key researchers
• Responsible for strategic map, identify, profile and prioritize LS in line with the medical plan goals
• Responsible for proactively defining, planning and integrating MSL activities into x-functional account plan tailored to the LS’ and product-strategic needs x-functional account planning
• Responsible for executing the MSL activity plan in alignment with medical advisor and cross-functionally
• Serve as Patient Advocacy Group (PAG) - champion per indication in collaboration with PAG lead if needed
Internal stakeholder management:
• If applicable, closely interact with other F-MAs in the therapy area and align proactively and independently on the collective approach in the field and the responsibilities in the office (e.g. MedEd, iConnect, approvals)
• Actively collaborates within CVT and contributes to the CVT by providing medical expertise, disease area & market insights and by leading medical programs
• Contributes to the creation of promotional material and is accountable for reviewing promotional material
• Accountable for creating content for scientific presentations and giving the medical training to MSLs, Medical Leads, sales colleagues and other employees
• Responds to complex scientific customer requests, by co-creating responses with the medical information team
• Covers the role of a local study responsible scientist or the local study responsible physician (when delegated to this role) and contributes to study protocols, early access programs or humanitarian requests
Data/information generation activities
• If applicable, collaborate with GCO and clinical research organizations (CROs) in feasibility, PI/ site selection, management, and issue resolution for R&D clinical trials and MAF studies
• Proactively cooperates with HEMAR and/or Real World Data studies/projects
If applicable, lead the customer interaction communication for customer support requests (e.g. educational grants, quality improvement grants, investigator-initiated studies) and ensure appropriate and timely internal discussions for proper follow-up
• If applicable, perform field/customer implementation of expanded access programs and risk management programs (in collaboration with Medical Advisor)
Data/information dissemination activities
• Proactively and reactively communicate relevant scientific information in accordance with health care compliance guidelines
• Respond to unsolicited scientific queries from customers for approved products and products/indications in development, based on Medical Affairs and Medical Information documents
• Use digital technologies and new media to support compliant proactive and reactive communication
• Provide impactful external presentations in line with the medical affairs tactical plan
Act in full compliance with J&J Credo and HCBI principles to preserve trust and reputation towards HCP and patients using Janssen products. Ensure safety reporting requirements (timely AE/PQC reporting) as set out in company policies and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) are met. Complete all trainings, documentation and administrative requirements in a timely, accurate and compliant manner.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Minimum Qualification
Professional
• Scientific degree: Medical Doctor, Pharmaceutical or Natural Science university degree (with MD/PhD being an additional asset)
• Min. 1-3 years related work experience
• Good knowledge of the therapeutic area, strong understanding of scientific research, clinical trial design/conduct and interpretation of medical/scientific data (scientific acumen)
• Ability to work with clinical & scientific data in order to translate these into relevant information for the clinical practice of the HCP and patients (clinical acumen)
• Good knowledge of Pharma industry and Health Care Environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Fluency in English and Slovak
