The Director of Operations will be instrumental in overseeing the overall business performance of the DePuy Synthes Crossroads Facilities. This role is exciting as it plays a critical part in ensuring that our products are manufactured and serviced timely, meeting high-quality standards and cost objectives. The successful candidate will lead initiatives in innovative manufacturing processes and promote a culture of continuous improvement, fostering growth and operational excellence within the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, plan, and direct the activities of department personnel in a matrix leadership environment to ensure overall business performance aligns with set objectives.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and all regulatory requirements related to manufacturing and operations.
- Provide vital resources to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of the Quality, Safety, and Environmental systems.
- Establish KPIs and ensure regular visibility, monitoring, and action planning against metrics to enable strong business performance.
- Execute strategic business planning and long-range financial planning.
- Deliver year-over-year operational metric improvements aligned with financial forecasts.
- Ensure successful integration and launch of new products, achieving on-time completion and business commitments.
- Develop ambitious long-range operations strategies that utilize innovative technologies.
- Act as the senior site contact with external authorities regarding compliance and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline. An advanced degree (MA/MBA) is preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Operations or Manufacturing within a regulated environment.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience leading teams directly or indirectly.
- Proven experience in overseeing new product launches and facilities construction.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and capability of strategic and tactical thinking.
- Outstanding presence and communication skills, with the ability to inspire trust and credibility.
Preferred:
- Experience in the healthcare or medical device industry.
- Familiarity with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to effectively manage change in a complex environment.
OTHER:
- Travel percentage: This position may require up to 10% travel, both domestically and internationally.
