Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Modern Data Stack Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain efficient data pipelines using tools such as Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, SQL, and Python, seamlessly integrating data into our Snowflake data warehouse. Additionally, you will transform, optimize the data and visualize in Power BI to meet business needs while ensuring high standards of data quality, security, and performance.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with business users across the European region, providing support for their analytics and data requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in modern data technologies to drive impactful decision-making.

Job Functions

  • Build and Maintain Data Pipelines: Design robust pipelines using tools like Fivetran, Python, and SQL to handle structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Work with Diverse Data Sources: Integrate data from systems like Oracle Fusion Cloud, Salesforce, and Adaptive Planning to meet analytics needs.
  • Transform and Optimize Data: Write efficient SQL queries to clean, transform, and prepare data for Snowflake.
  • Ensure Data Quality: Implement data quality checks and monitoring tools like Monte Carlo to maintain accuracy.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with European stakeholders and coordinate with the US and global teams, adapting to different time zones.
  • Document and Share Knowledge: Maintain clear documentation to ensure pipelines are easy to understand and maintain.
  • Optimize Performance: Monitor and refining pipelines for scalability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve pipeline problems quickly to ensure data availability.
  • Create Visual Dashboards: Build impactful reports and dashboards using Power BI to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest trends in the modern data stack, including tools like Snowflake, Fivetran, and Power BI.
  • This role demands flexibility, collaboration, and a proactive mindset to deliver reliable insights for the European region and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a track record of designing and building efficient and scalable data pipelines.

Technical Expertise:

  • Snowflake: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
  • SQL & Python: Advanced skills in SQL for querying and data manipulation, and Python for scripting and automation.
  • Power BI: Strong proficiency in creating complex dashboards, visualizations, and reports in Power BI to communicate insights effectively.
  • Data Modeling & Transformation: Advanced experience in data modeling, transformation techniques.
  • Source Systems Integration: Proven experience extracting and loading data from enterprise systems, especially Oracle Fusion Cloud (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) and Salesforce.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities to troubleshoot data issues, optimize processes, and derive actionable insights.
  • Strategic Mindset: A strong ability to align analytics initiatives with broader business goals and proactively identify opportunities to leverage data for driving business value.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with business partners, data analysts, and cross-functional teams across global time zones.
  • Clear and concise communication to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Independent & Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
