Overall purpose of job:
The candidate will be responsible for effective internal and external interactions to position J&J as a credible stakeholder to the Government of Singapore and shape the policies and legislations of strategic importance to J&J. This position will mainly lead GA&P work for J&J Innovative Medicine and J&J MedTech. He/she will represent GA&P function across the business sectors. The successful candidate will be unique in their skill sets in terms of demonstrating the ability;
To shape the favorable policy environment towards a healthcare ecosystem that will recognize and reward the value of J&J innovation across the business sectors
To enhance the corporate reputation as a company’s advocate, while accelerating the patients’ better access to innovative medicine and medical technology
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze the government’s policies, regulations or legislations and identify issues that may impact the company
Delivering high-quality and visually engaging content on policy and political analysis to the J&J business leaders
Develop and executes the strategies and tactics to shape the policy in cooperation with J&J’ Singapore business across sectors (J&J Innovative Medicine, J&J MedTech)
Provide advice and collaborates with business leaders on governmental issues, while leading crisis management and developing contingent strategies
Shape government policies and decisions that are critical to business such as, but not limited to, pricing, reimbursement, regulatory, intellectual property rights, business practices and healthcare reform issues
Closely work in cooperation with internal (global, regional and local) teams under the matrix organization
Collaborate with the external stakeholders such as government, policy makers, academia, industrial association, patient groups and NGOs
Develop and implement the crisis management initiatives for the protection of the company's reputation
Proactively engage in and contribute to broader J&J teams in Singapore, SEA Regional leadership, SEA, APAC and Global GA&P organizations in key initiatives
In addition to the above, the candidate would be
Participating (where relevant) in SEA / APAC-level projects and collaborative initiatives
Engage actively in worldwide GA&P projects, ad-hoc teams, or annual events
Required Professional Knowledge & Skills
Understanding of the political system and policy development processes.
Experience in the health care industry, e.g. Good contact with both central and local healthcare authorities.
Proven ability to master complex regulatory and policy issues, and to translate them into clear and concise messaging and direct relevant to J&J businesses.
Strategic thinking, business acumen, strong analytical skills combined with critical and creative thinking
Possess negotiations, professional writing, communication and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.
Demonstrated drive for results, motivate and positively influence individuals both inside and outside of the organization.
Team player who seeks to become an integral part of an industry-leading government and public affairs group.
Strong organizational skills, adept at managing complex array of projects/issues big being words if needed.
Experiences in leading and influencing cross-functional teams of experts

Desired Qualifications
At least 8 years of professional experience- preferably in the healthcare sector
Experience in working with political systems, policy issues, and government (Healthcare policy is preferred)
Experience with analytical and creative approach to policy issues
Proven coalition-building and external representation and negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Bachelor degree required, Master is preferred
Commitment to ethical business practices
