We are searching for the best talent for IT Cybersecurity Analyst Intern to be in Santa Clara, CA.
Purpose: Shockwave is excited to obtain an intern Cybersecurity Analyst to learn and work with a fast paced and risk driven Cybersecurity Team. We are seeking a candidate who has a passion learning about core cybersecurity concepts and how they apply to a rapidly growing medical device company. The candidate will partake in threat detection, incident response, and risk identification/ reporting exercises throughout the duration of their program.
- Internship typical term is 10-12 weeks May to August, 2025
- Full time requirement (40 hours per week)
You will be responsible for:
- Primary responsibilities can include identifying and assisting in the remediation of threats, vulnerabilities, and maturing our security awareness training program.
- Monitor systems for threats and vulnerabilities as assigned.
- Contribute to information security policies and standards, procedures and other documentation as needed to improve information security capabilities.
- Create meaningful metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of security controls and security team operations.
- Participate in security architecture reviews and third-party risk management reviews.
- Generate security related artifacts as needed to meet internal and external compliance requirements.
- Keep abreast of industry news, guidance, and threat feeds.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at accredited University is required.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
- Awareness of basic Cybersecurity concepts, threats, and attack vectors.
- Pursuing a degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Information Assurance.
- Working towards one or more of the following certifications: IT Fundamentals, Network+, A+, Security+, SSCP, CISSP.
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
The anticipated base pay for this position is between $22.00/hr and $51.50/hr, but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible. Intern/Co-ops may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, and the Company’s consolidated retirement plan in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans. Housing stipend will be offered for those that qualify. This position is ineligible for severance.
