Life as an R&D Co-Op:
The R&D Co-Op program provides each student with real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to meet people from various schools throughout the country. Each Co-op will be assigned to a single function with a specific project for the 6-month term.
The typical Co-Op term is from June 2025 – December 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
This Co-Op position will support the API Proteins group within Therapeutics Development and Supply. The Co-Op will.
- Work with team members in the development of Cell Culture Development strategies for the production of protein therapeutics.
- Analyze and interpret experimental results using analytical and statistical techniques. Actively participate in weekly meetings with internal and external collaborators.
- Participate in technical discussions on design of experiments to fill gaps in knowledge.
- Maintain a laboratory notebook and other technical documents according to required guidelines.
- Provide other project support as needed.
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
Qualifications
Education:
- Analytical chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biological engineering, and related majors are preferred.
- Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s or equivalent experience, Master’s, or PhD degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred
- Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while performing results
- Must be a self-starter works independently while supplying to the team goals
- Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
Preferred:
- For students pursuing their Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Juniors or Seniors are preferred.
- Students with basic laboratory skills and experience in research, experimental design & execution, technical writing, data analysis, and hands-on experience in cell culture and aseptic techniques and other relevant lab techniques are preferred.
