Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director, Global Medical Affairs Publication Strategy Leader in Oncology with a focus on Multiple Myeloma / Hematology.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead overall publication planning and strategy for myeloma portfolio in collaboration with R&D Compound Development Team, Medical Affairs and Market Access colleagues.
  • Manage a team of internal contractors and external publication vendors for publication planning and execution of publication deliverables across the myeloma portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with Global Medical Affairs Lead/Medical Director and Strategy & Execution Lead to align the worldwide publication plan with other myeloma portfolio strategies.
  • Seek input and ensure regional and local publication needs are identified and addressed in the worldwide publication plan.
  • Oversee publication development and timely execution of abstracts, posters, oral. presentations, and manuscripts per ICMJE and in compliance with J&J Pharmaceutical publication policies and system.
  • Leverage best practices across the J&J Oncology Global Medical Affairs Team to optimize publication strategy and execution of publication deliverables.
  • Provide strategic input to senior leadership to guide decision making regarding publication strategy.
  • Support annual global medical affairs planning and budget estimates for publication team deliverables.
  • Collaborate with global and regional colleagues to support best practices in data communication, ensuring seamless dissemination of oncology scientific data.
  • Partner with regional teams to align strategies for effective communication, fostering consistent and impactful strategies to support compliant data communication.
  • Manage and track overall publication strategy budget and lead vendor selection and on-boarding.
  • Additional responsibilities include:
  • Understand the evolving publications landscape through engagement with and participation in professional societies (eg, ISMPP)
  • Attend key scientific congresses and meetings for the TA to ensure accurate and appropriate presentation of scientific evidence
  • Travel as required (up to 20%)

Qualifications - External

Educational Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) and 8 years of publication planning, writing, medical affairs, medical communications experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Therapeutic area, Hematology, experience preferred
  • CMPP certification preferred
  • Familiarity with current publication environment, good publication practices, Sunshine Act/Pharma Code of Conduct, ICMJE, GPP3, and other global guidelines related to publications, scientific data communication, and transparency standards
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and organizational, time management, and project management/planning skills
  • Experience leading critical functional or cross-functional initiatives

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $157,000 to $271,400.
