Janssen Biologics (Ireland)
Janssen Biologics (Ireland) established its operation in Ringaskiddy in 2005 on a 100-acre site with an investment of €500 million. For more than 25 years, we have been a global leader in the field of biomedicines, in particular pioneering monoclonal antibody technology, a cutting-edge approach to producing medicines that launched a new generation of products to treat immune-related diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and plaque psoriasis.
The facility in Ringaskiddy is now operational, producing biomedicines for both the treatment of immune-related diseases and new and innovative cancer treatments.
Janssen Pharmaceutical
Janssen Pharmaceutical has been manufacturing bulk active pharmaceutical ingredients in Cork since 1981. Products are sold throughout the world, to other Janssen and third-party companies, where they are further processed into tablets, creams, or injectable dosage forms. These finished products are used in the treatment of a range of psychiatric, gastrointestinal and fungal disorders, as well as in the treatment of HIV.
DePuy SynthesDePuy (Ireland)
In 1997, DePuy (Ireland) established its manufacturing facility in Cork, where it manufactures orthopedic knees and hips. The company expanded to include a Global Supply Chain Operation in 2002. More recently, in 2008, DePuy established an Innovation Centre which was created to develop next-generation orthopedic products and processes for a global market..
DePuy is a global leader in providing healthcare solutions in orthopedics, spinal care, sports medicine, and neurosciences.
Janssen Alzheimer Immunotherapy
Established in 2009, Janssen Alzheimer Immunotherapy is based in Dublin and has a Research and Development facility in South San Francisco, USA. The company is involved in the research, development, and commercialisation of selective products for the treatment and/or prevention of Alzheimer’s disease. This includes bapineuzumab, a potential first-in-class treatment that is being evaluated for slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (Ireland)
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (Ireland) produces the ACUVUE® range of contact lenses, which is the leading contact lens product in the world. Our Limerick site uses the most advanced technology in the industry and we now employ over 850 people directly. Using our highly automated production process, we produce daily disposable contact lenses while utilizing state of the art technologies such as injection moulding, robotics, vision systems, and sterilisation systems.
