Job Description:

Role Purpose

The Head of the Neuroscience Business Unit (BU) is accountable for the overall performance and sustainable growth of the Neuroscience portfolio. This role has primary responsibility for delivering Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) business results and maximizing the patient impact of the PPLAT product line through strategic, compliant partnerships and by developing a medium- to long-term portfolio strategy. The position requires a decisive leader who sets clear strategic direction, drives executional excellence, and builds a high-performing organization capable of delivering consistent top- and bottom-line results in a complex, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Performance

- Own the end-to-end strategy, operating plan, and P&L for the Neuroscience BU.

- Translate BU and enterprise strategy into clear priorities, executable plans, and measurable outcomes.

- Balance short-term execution with long-term value creation and portfolio sustainability.

- Regularly review business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and take decisive corrective actions.

- Effectively allocate resources and set priorities to drive productivity, while overseeing budget planning and control to meet financial targets.

MDD Business Leadership

- Lead the development and execution of a strong, differentiated brand strategy across the full value chain.

- Drive execution excellence through effective cross-functional collaboration with medical, market access and other key functions

- Leverage insights and data to optimize resource allocation, in-market performance, and lifecycle management.

- Ensure delivery of both business commitments and meaningful patient impact.

Alliance & Partnership Management

- Provide senior leadership for strategic alliance management, ensuring strong governance, transparency, and accountability.

- Ensure full compliance with internal policies, contractual obligations, compliance requirements and external regulatory requirements across partnership.

- Maximize the value of PPLAT through effective joint planning, performance management, and issue resolution.

- Build trusted, value-based relationships with external partners and identify future collaboration opportunities aligned with BU strategy.

Leadership, Team & Capability Building

- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing Neuroscience organization, with a strong leadership bench and clear accountability.

- Foster a culture of performance, collaboration, compliance, and ownership, with high standards for execution and results.

- Develop talent through coaching, feedback, and succession planning to ensure long-term organizational capability.

- Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity from strategy through execution.

Governance & Decision-Making

- Establish BU operating principles and governance in line with corporate, legal, and compliance standards.

- Make timely, high-quality decisions in a complex and fast-moving environment.

- Act as a credible and influential leader with senior internal stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.

  • Significant leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with full P&L accountability and end‑to‑end business ownership.

  • Strong strategic mindset with a proven ability to define business direction and drive sustainable growth through disciplined execution.

  • Demonstrated capability to lead cross‑functional teams and operate effectively within a complex, matrix organization.

  • High level of business acumen and data fluency; able to leverage insights and performance metrics to inform decision‑making.

  • Experience in external partnerships and alliance management, with solid understanding of governance and compliance requirements, is a plus.

  • Fluent in English and able to use English as a primary working language in regional and global settings.

  • Resilient, agile, and effective in navigating ambiguity and change.

  • Proven ability to develop talent, inspire teams, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Strong learning agility and growth mindset.
