Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Scientist to join our newly established Emerging Science Immunology Discovery group on our Beerse campus. This role offers the exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment where the primary goal is to discover and validate novel pathways that will drive the next wave of therapeutic treatment for patients with chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in the early discovery space, where novel biological insights are anchored in computational learnings from our patient data sets. The candidate should have a strong background in cellular biology and/or cell signaling, across immune, stromal or epithelial populations. The candidate will have direct responsibility for the design and execution of in vitro studies that support pathway validation and translation to patient cellular phenotypes. The candidate will also possess a strong ability to independently implement experiments, interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and present findings to project teams.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, immunology or a related field with 3+ years of experience, and/or Master’s degree with 2+ years of pharmaceutical industry/CRO
Experience with complex primary human co-culture assays is required, including: independent in vitro experimental design, development of robust functional assays, data interpretation and meticulous documentation
Experience with developing complex co-cultures is a plus
Comfort with establishing and working with OMICs data sets (both gene and protein expression) is preferred
Self-motivated, proactive, strong attention to detail
Excellent oral and written and fit-for-purpose communication skills are required
Excellent interpersonal & collaborative skills with an ability to operate as part of a team in highly matrixed environment is required
