We are searching for the best talent for Trainer 1

The Trainer trains and qualifies direct manufacturing personnel following the corresponding procedures and using documents, materials, and tools relevant to the different operations they support. Enables skills development through training, certification and coaching in the Job Instruction (JI) skill set for SMEs (subject matter experts) / certified associates acting as on the job trainer. Manages Learning Management System (LMS) data related to the certification process supported in the company. Partners with management to evaluate the effectiveness of current training practices. Helps in the identification of skills that should be focused on to improve site training efficiency and productivity.

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Ensures all manufacturing personnel are trained and qualified to the corresponding specifications/procedures using documents, materials, and tools as provided in the applicable training curriculum(s).

  • Assists in the development, approval maintenance, and monitoring of training plans to ensure training is aligned with job descriptions, business goals and objectives.

  • Partners with people leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of current training practices; Helps in the identification of skills and/or training needs on which efforts should be focused to improve site training efficiency and personnel proficiency.

  • Monitors training curriculums and applicable documents related to designated areas of responsibility to ensure accuracy and applicable assignments are maintained.

  • Maintains knowledge and skills in all production operations (manufacturing processes) within areas of responsibility.

  • Runs required training reports and customized reports per customer requests.

  • Monitors Learning Management System (LMS) data related to the OPCERT process and coordinates initial certification assessments and recertification.

  • Performs training audits and Training Within Industry (TWI) Process Confirmation Checks (PCCs).

  • Creates course codes, class codes, and maintains training records and applicable documentation.

  • Attends production and quality meetings of designated areas on a regular basis.

  • Conducts New Hire Orientation as needed (theory and practical).

  • Complies with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies. (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).

  • Teaches and certifies selected personnel to execute the responsibility of On-the-Job Training (OJT).

  • Performs TWI Recertification training and TWI practical evaluations.

  • Teaches, coaches, and certifies selected personnel to execute the responsibility of On-the-Job Training (OJT) and TWI Job Instruction.

  • Assists in the creation, review, and updating of Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS) for new or existing jobs/activities, ensuring adherence to guidelines and best practices, as needed.

  • Ensures all personnel required to be certified are appropriately trained, and qualified.

  • Actively develops continuous improvement skills through training and certifications such as FPx, Lean fundamentals, and Yellow or Green Belt, based on role level.

  • Participates in and/or leads continuous improvement initiatives, operating with limited supervision based on role level.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Trainer 1:

  • Completes tasks for the support function of the Quality Training unit, and closely follows established administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.

  • Communicates with cross-functional teams to improve and standardize training processes.

  • Organizes training materials prepared by instructors within the Quality Training function.

  • Ensures all hard-copy training records are completed accurately and filed correctly.

  • Helps monitor compliance with industry regulations, policies, and procedures within the Quality Training function.

  • Demonstrates Johnson & Johnson’s Leadership Imperatives and Credo.

SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

Must Have:

  • Ability to deliver and facilitate training and development activities for individuals and groups.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, including public speaking and group facilitation.

  • Ability to develop training content and review or evaluate content created by others.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to evaluate jobs and create clear, concise job instructions.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

  • Understanding of safety requirements, ergonomics, applicable ISO standards, and regulatory expectations.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules as needed to support training delivery.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Understanding of adult learning principles.

  • Multi‑functional knowledge across different areas of production.

  • TWI Job Instructor certification.

  • OJT Trainer certification.
