Job Description:

The Commercial Distributor Manager & Service Lead is a individual contributor role responsible for managing distributor and service channel partners to deliver sales growth, service excellence, and strong customer engagement in Indonesia. The role operates independently with minimal supervision and serves as a developing subject matter expert in channel management, marketing execution, and third-party service performance.

The incumbent builds collaborative relationships with distributors, service partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of commercial and service strategies aligned with Johnson & Johnson business objectives. The role drives customer interest, loyalty, and awareness while embedding Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into decision-making and partner management.

Key Responsibilities

Distributor & Channel Management

  • Manage end-to-end business operations through appointed distributors to ensure achievement of sales targets, market growth, and customer penetration.
  • Drive sales performance and sustainable growth at the end-customer level through structured distributor engagement and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct regular distributor business reviews to evaluate commercial performance, compliance, and strategic alignment.
  • Strengthen distributor relationships to improve execution quality, accountability, and long-term partnership value.

Marketing & Commercial Execution

  • Develop and execute distributor-led commercial and marketing plans aligned with country business strategies and industry dynamics.
  • Manage allocated marketing budgets and coordinate resources across campaigns to optimize return on investment.
  • Create and deploy marketing materials to support distributor effectiveness and market execution.
  • Implement tracking systems and generate performance reports to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Apply advanced channel and marketing techniques to manage complex campaigns that meet internal and external stakeholder expectations.

Distributor Capability & Knowledge Development

  • Enhance distributor product, clinical, and procedural knowledge through structured training programs.
  • Educate distributor teams on Johnson & Johnson products, services, policies, and processes.
  • Coach and mentor distributor-facing junior colleagues, ensuring consistent application of best practices and operating standards.

Internal Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with internal functions including Marketing, Professional Education, Supply Chain, and Regional Service teams to ensure distributors receive adequate operational and technical support.
  • Consult with managers and stakeholders to address operational challenges and improve channel effectiveness.
  • Ensure alignment between commercial objectives and cross‑functional execution.

Service Business & Third‑Party Management

  • Manage capital equipment service performance (preventive maintenance and repairs) through appointed third‑party service providers.
  • Drive achievement of service contract commercialization and revenue targets.
  • Define service KPIs and conduct routine service performance reviews with third‑party partners.
  • Ensure sufficient functional support from Regional Service, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to enable effective third‑party service performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into distributor management, service delivery, and daily business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical business practices.
  • Act as a role model for customer focus, integrity, and accountability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in distributor management, channel marketing, commercial operations, or service management, preferably within healthcare, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing third‑party distributors or service providers.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid working environment.
