The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced commercial leader to join our Vision Care team as Associate Director – Sales (ANZ), based in Macquarie Park (NSW) or Notting Hill (VIC), with responsibility across Australia and New Zealand.

In this role, you will lead our Key Account and Field Sales teams across channels, with direct leadership responsibility of a sizeable team headed by 1x National Key Account Manager (Channel Lead) and 2x Regional Sales Managers, who will report directly to you. You’ll be accountable for delivering sales targets and financial objectives, shaping category and account growth strategies, and personally managing priority senior customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach the sales leadership team to deliver strong performance, capability uplift and consistent execution.
  • Drive business strategy for category and account growth across Tier 1 & 2 Key Accounts, eCommerce and Independents.
  • Build and maintain senior customer and KOL relationships to deliver mutual value and sustainable growth.
  • Plan and direct customer programs, setting metrics, tracking performance and optimising outcomes.
  • Lead budget, forecasting and reporting disciplines with strong commercial rigour.
  • Oversee trade promotion investment and expense management within budget.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver integrated execution excellence.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business‑related discipline.
  • Optical industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Open to candidates from allied health and Medtech backgrounds, including surgical environments, as well as relevant FMCG experience.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience (3+ years preferred), with a strong coaching and capability‑building mindset.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including forecasting, performance management, and disciplined execution.
  • Insights‑driven and customer‑focused, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery.
  • Confident communicator and influencer, able to deliver results in a fast‑paced, complex environment.
