This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating materials handling operations and providing day-to-day leadership to Support Technicians to ensure efficient inventory management and the safe, timely movement of capital equipment and materials through the Energy Service Solutions U.S. Service Center.
This role leads all aspects of operational workflow for receiving, decontaminating, shipping, and internal movement of inventory; supports organizational objectives and business goals; and ensures compliance with established Johnson & Johnson processes, quality requirements, and safety standards. The Supervisor is accountable for performance management, talent development, and maintaining consistent, high-quality work output across the Support Technician team.
Key Responsibilities:
In accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations and Johnson & Johnson policies and procedures, this position is responsible for:
Supervising and providing day-to-day leadership to Support Technicians, including coaching, training, performance management, and talent development.
Coordinating daily materials handling activities, including receiving, decontamination, shipping, and internal movement of spare parts and medical devices.
Performs hands-on materials handling responsibilities as needed to support operational continuity, accounting for up to 20% of the role.
Managing workflow, productivity, and operational decision-making to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent inventory management of capital pools and spare parts.
Ensuring accurate updates to service and inventory systems to support asset tracking and reporting.
Analyzing operational data to improve inventory turns, reduce waste, and support customer service objectives.
Ensuring team compliance with GMP, safety, quality, and continuous improvement requirements, including readiness for internal and external audits.
Leading departmental safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Johnson & Johnson safety regulations.
Serving as owner of materials handling documentation, including work instructions and procedural updates.
Supporting staffing activities, including hiring, onboarding, and resource planning.
Communicating business issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to management.
Demonstrating and reinforcing Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in daily interactions.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Information, or Business Analysis or equivalent experience
Focus on Logistics or Operations Management is a plus
Experience and Skills:
Required:
5+ years of experience related to the service of medical devices
1-3 years of leading individual contributors with strong coaching and mentoring skills
Experience working in regulated or safety‑critical environments (e.g., manufacturing, aerospace, medical devices, transportation, or distribution centers)
Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse or materials handling practices and procedures
Knowledge of specific business practices and software and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Preferred:
Experience in Medical Devices, manufacturing, supply chain, material handling, or logistics is preferred
Knowledge of Six Sigma, Process Improvement methodologies, or Lean Manufacturing Principals is preferred
Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt, APICS / ASCM certifications, etc. are preferred
