Job Overview

The Director, Int’l Risk Management COE and Regional Offices, is a strategic leader responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for effective execution of the Compliance Program across the OUS Regional Offices and management of the International Risk Management Center of Excellence (COE). This role serves as a strategic business partner for activities related to International & Regional Marketing, HEMA, Professional Education and the Third-party Intermediary Hub. The role also partners closely across HCC for compliance monitoring initiatives.

This is a high‑impact leadership role with global reach, offering the opportunity to shape how risk is identified, assessed, and managed across international markets while partnering closely with senior leaders to support sustainable growth and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted compliance partner and advisor to International Marketing, Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) and Professional Education leadership, integrating compliance considerations into business plans and decisions and providing practical, forward-looking guidance and solutions.

  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to regional risk management offices to ensure consistent application of enterprise risk principles and oversee implementation of an effective compliance program across the Regional Offices.

  • Foster partnerships with senior management to maintain an appropriate culture of compliance and drive a sustainable compliance program.

  • Advise senior management and compliance leadership on potential compliance risk areas and recommend implementation of action plans.

  • Review investigation results with appropriate management and the Law Department, including development of corrective action plans where appropriate.

  • Partner with the Third-Party Intermediary (TPI) Hub Leader to ensure end-to-end execution of the third-party risk management program for distributors in scope. Oversee due diligence, approvals, and monitoring for third-party intermediaries, ensuring robust controls and effective compliance governance in channel management.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing global risk management team across the COE and Regional Offices.

  • Support business transformation initiatives by embedding effective risk management into evolving operating models.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

  • Preferred: Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Compliance, Legal, Risk, or Ethics‑related).

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Minimum 10–12+ years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, legal, risk management, audit, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated experience leading global or regional risk management programs and teams.

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance laws, regulations, and enforcement practices.

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive compliant decision‑making in highly regulated environments.

  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and effective decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or broader life sciences industries.

  • Experience operating in highly matrixed, multicultural organizations.

  • Strong change management and influencing capabilities.

Other

  • Language: Fluency in English required; additional languages preferred.

  • Travel: Up to 20–30%

  • Certifications: Compliance, legal, or ethics certifications preferred but not required.
