DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Sr. Director, Global Procurement Operations & Bogota Site Lead, located in Bogota, Colombia
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. POSITION SUMMARY
This role is accountable for delivering best-in-class experience, business value delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement across Global Operations Procurement. This individual will be responsible for standing up a global procurement operations organization offering end-to-end experience and value delivery including Source-to-Contract, Payments, Vendor Master Data, and Experience.
This role will partner with Global Digital & Process Leads to drive data-driven continuous process improvement to meet key experience, value-creation and operational metrics. The role also partners with other key Procurement and global functions to enhance service delivery and value metrics.
This role also serves as the Bogota Site Lead, accountable for driving site performance, employee engagement, and a high-performing, inclusive culture across the Global Services organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive Organizational Strategy, Engagement and Talent Development
- Build, lead, and continuously evolve into an integrated, high-performing global procurement operations organization with clear priorities, modern ways of working, and strong performance and talent cadence.
- Build a talent-first culture anchored in high performance, growth mindset, capability building, and inclusion—creating robust talent pipelines, development plans, and succession for critical roles.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures for procurement and supplier responsibilities
- Champion continuous learning and leadership development and cultivate a strong global procurement community that is innovative and attracts, retains, and grows top talent.
Operational Excellence across Source-to-Contract, Payments, Experience and Vendor Master Data processes
- Ensure service delivery meets commitments with emphasis on continuous improvement to exceed customer expectations. Leverage automation and insights gathered through data analytics to shape operational processes and user experience.
- Ensure Category strategy plans to deliver the value delivery targets. Partner with BU teams to meet business needs and support supplier engagement plans. Provide insights/input to shape category strategies.
- Leverage automation and insights gathered through data analytics to shape operational processes and user experience.
- Ensure compliance with all internal control guidelines for the relevant processes.
Trusted Partner
- Partner closely with Global Process and Digital Leads enhance service offerings that are designed to exceed the emerging business needs at global and regional levels.
- Cultivate positive relationships with procurement, function and business leaders globally. Shape and influence engagement and service model to continuously improve experience, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Partner closely with the category leaders to effectively execute category strategy
Bogota Site Leadership
- Serve as Site Lead for Bogota with accountability for site performance, engagement, and employee experience.
- Champion an inclusive, high-performance, values-driven culture.
- Lead learning and development strategy and capability building.
- Drive employee engagement and organizational health outcomes.
- Act as the senior enterprise representative, strengthening cross-functional alignment and leadership visibility.
Global Operations Procurement Network Strategy
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or equivalent preferred. Bachelor’s degree required (Technical degree preferred)
- Service Delivery Excellence. Understanding and experience in shared services domain, including service level management, continuous improvement, robotic process automation, and outsourcing/BPO while driving towards standardized, compliant and high-quality processes.
- 10+ years Comprehensive knowledge of and extensive experience with procurement business processes, practices and technology, including cross-functional and cross-geographic
- People Leadership Experience. Leading a collaborative, team-based environment. Demonstrated track record leading a team of 30 or more people, growing and developing others. Experience of leading teams with diverse perspectives and chartering them to deliver breakthrough results.
- Demonstrated Strategic mindset. Leverages external insights and innovative solutions to create customer value.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management. Is a trustworthy leader who cultivates successful partnerships. Has the skills to communicate, develop collaborative relationships, and influence others.
