We are searching for the best talent for Experienced Business Excellence Engineer.
Purpose:
The holder of this position is responsible for the development and improvement of one or more operations or areas that impact one or more of the performance measures of the company. The Experienced Business Excellence Engineer must have a clear understanding of the strategies of the plant and must be capable of translating these strategies into measurable goals. The responsibilities will include establishing the bases or current condition, communicating / lead improvement projects from establishing the strategic plant up to the implementation, systematization of the improvement of the performance measure and comparing the result with the world-class standards. For that, the title holder could become an expert in the use of JJPS tools, six sigma, lean manufacturing system, possess knowledge about product costs, must have experience in manufacturing.
You will be responsible for:
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Own and shape a portfolio of process improvement initiatives aligned to the site strategic plan, translating strategy into measurable value and sustainable results.
- Lead cross-functional governance and stakeholder alignment (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, NPI), ensuring clear priorities, decision-making, and change adoption.
- Establish and drive end-to-end execution plans (scope, milestones, risks, resources) to deliver initiatives on time and within agreed objectives, sustaining gains through standardization.
- Define, implement, and continuously improve a performance management system (KPIs, dashboards, cadence reviews) across inventory/WIP, quality, cost, and schedule; benchmark performance and drive corrective actions.
- Drive cost strategy and value creation by identifying key cost levers (including COGS fundamentals and Design to Value opportunities) and embedding disciplined benefit tracking.
- Embed risk management and compliance with improvement work, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and Company requirements (e.g., GMP/ISO/FDA) as well as EHS/Ergonomics standards.
- Champion the site operating system (JJPS/Lean/Six Sigma/Process Excellence) by deploying standard methodologies, facilitating training/certification when needed, and scaling best practices.
- Build organizational capability by coaching and mentoring colleagues; when applicable, coordinate technician activities and support resource planning to enable strategic delivery.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Experience and education
- Completed University bachelor’s degree in engineering, any specialization, preferred industrial engineer.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in medical products (preferred)
- Process Excellence: (SPC and DMAIC), knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, strategies development, Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred (can be candidate to be certified).
- Knowledge of materials systems, inventories and supply chain.
- Experience in different areas of the plant.
- Ability to establish PE (Six Sigma and lean manufacturing) as part of the culture in the organization.
- Experience in the management of Permanent Change
Required knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications/licenses and affiliations
- Strong knowledge of computer packages such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint. AutoCad and other similar software.
- Must possess demonstrated analytical capacity.
- Knowledge in Finances
- Bilingual English – Spanish
- Good interpersonal relations and ease of written and oral communication.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Must be perseverant: good follow up and project direction.
- Knowledge of Product Cost (Std Cost).
- Knowledge of Quality and Production techniques (CFM, JIT, TQM, etc.).
- Sigma, Lean methodologies, and Project Management are preferred. Experience in requesting and translating customer needs is preferred.
