Responsibilities of the Director, Global Commercial Strategy, Respiratory include:

  • Proactively partnering with R&D and regional leaders to provide input into clinical study development, product development decisions, and labeling that supports product strategy, commercial launch strategy and lifecycle management investments
  • Taking initiative toward innovative portfolio solutions – from clinical trial innovations to customer engagement strategies – with the aim to maximize the value of the product and total portfolio.
  • Leading/representing the commercial view through governance processes, including DAS/TA specific Teams, the Development Committee and Investment Committee
  • Influencing senior pharma leadership, R&D, and regional leadership to support data generation strategies and optimal and timely investments
  • Driving development and implementation of commercial strategy, including branding, public relations, market access strategies, and other market preparation programs
  • Accountability for managing full product budget
  • Developing key promotional tools and initiatives to support the growth of in-market products in alignment with the regional teams
  • Leading active partnerships with regional organization to ensure launch readiness for future indications as well as implementation of critical life cycle programs for in-market product.
  • Collaborating with Medical Affairs to ensure robust publication plans and enduring/differentiating data generation
  • Liaising with Market Access in development of value propositions to support/bolster reimbursement and approvals globally
  • Leading the development of pipeline forecasts and full asset valuation in collaboration with the Global Strategic Analytics team
  • Partnering with key cross-functional team members (Analytics, Finance, Competitive Intelligence, Supply Chain etc.) to develop differentiating value proposition and commercial forecast valuation models.
  • Ensuring development of strong business cases that support the portfolio strategy

Qualifications / Requirements

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree in business or life sciences is preferred.

Experience & Skills

Required:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience is required.
  • Must have a proven track record of exceptional team & cross functional leadership.
  • Acumen with scientific and clinical data, and the ability to assimilate complex Research/Scientific and Medical/Clinical data is required.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills are required, as are the abilities to master complexity and to integrate insights into strategies.
  • Demonstrated global mindset is required.
  • A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, cross-geography, with high-level managers and executives is required.
  • An ability to manage multiple demands and priorities on time and driving decision making is required.
  • Strong executive verbal and written communication skills are required, including demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Skilled in the Microsoft Office 365 platform (Including, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OneNote and Teams)

Preferred:

  • Global Launch experience and demonstrated ability to work with regional partners is preferred.
  • New product planning experience with a portfolio of assets preferred
  • Respiratory disease area experience is preferred.
  • Experience with R&D programs, managing strategic alliances, global market access and medical strategy is preferred.

Other:

  • Approximately 10-20% travel is required
