Revenue Accounting Manager Americas
Location: Bogotá, Colombia
Role Summary
The Americas Revenue Accounting Manager will lead the design, operation, and continuous improvement of end-to-end revenue accounting processes, integrating people, processes, and technology. This role will act as the regional/operational authority for technical and control matters, drive alignment with global standards, and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of revenue-related financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sustainable revenue accounting support solutions across people, process, and technology to ensure integration and scalability.
- Oversee daily operations of the function: work allocation, resource planning, prioritization, and timeline monitoring to meet SLAs.
- Serve as a strategic point of contact with business areas and Global/Regional Finance Services to align priorities and deliver measurable business value.
- Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring compliance with quality, tax, regulatory, and SOX 404 requirements.
- Maintain, strengthen, and enforce revenue accounting practices and controls to minimize financial risk and ensure compliance.
- Build deep, process-centric expertise for owned revenue processes and lead automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate interaction models with other functions to ensure accurate and timely operational and financial reporting.
- Lead, support, influence, and execute any Technological and process Transformation initiatives (SigniFi or any new business integrations), managing change and shaping both processes and talent workforce strategies.
- Manage full-cycle people responsibilities: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Promote a results-oriented culture focused on financial control, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Other Duties - Support ad-hoc requests and special projects. - Provide training and support to local and regional teams on revenue processes and policies. - Actively participate in internal and external audits.
- Team Leadership - Lead and develop a high-performing team (including managers, supervisors, and analysts). Responsible for a structure that may exceed 12 people across direct and indirect reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in accounting/finance. Shared Service Center experience is an asset.
- Proven experience managing teams (including supervisors and managers).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP and applicable local standards) and corporate policies (e.g., WWP/ICG and SOX controls).
- Experience with close processes, GL reconciliations, and complex revenue accounting issues.
- Strong business partnering, communication skills, and ability to link business changes to process adaptation.
- Advanced English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Business, process and teams’ transformation experience(preferable).
- Knowledge of process automation (RPA, macros, integration tools) and data analysis.
