Job Description:

Role Overview

The Cash Applications Analyst – ASPAC is responsible for the accurate and timely application of customer payments across the Asia-Pacific (ASPAC) region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of accounts receivable balances, supporting cash flow optimization, and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Application & Reconciliation

  • Process and apply customer payments (e.g., bank transfers, checks, remittances) accurately and within established SLAs.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure all receipts are properly recorded in the system.
  • Investigate and resolve unapplied and unidentified cash items in a timely manner.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of postings in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

Exception Handling & Issue Resolution

  • Analyze discrepancies such as short payments, overpayments, or deductions.
  • Coordinate with Collections, Billing, and Sales teams to resolve payment variances.
  • Escalate complex issues and follow through to resolution to prevent aging of unapplied cash.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders across ASPAC markets (e.g., Japan, Korea, ANZ, SEA).
  • Respond to customer and internal queries related to payment applications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and clients.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and distribute daily/weekly/monthly reports on cash application status, unapplied cash, and other ad hoc reports.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.
  • Support audit activities by providing required documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support automation initiatives (e.g., RPA, AI tools) and continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to best practice standardization across regions.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, or I2C processes.
  • Experience handling ASPAC markets is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Familiarity with bank platforms and payment formats across ASPAC.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage high volumes and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adaptability to different cultural and regional requirements within ASPAC.
