Manages a Manufacturing Business Unit. Participates in the day-to-day operations with responsibilities for producing products at minimum costs consistent with quality specifications and production schedules. Develops & participates in strategic decisions of the plant, division and company.
Responsibilities:
Under general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Provides a leadership role in the development and implementation of Process Excellence and Six Sigma standards.
Identifies needs and coordinate the development of support systems, i.e., Documentation, Q.A. Systems.
Ensures sufficient manufacturing materials, equipment, and personnel.
Provides variance analysis and corrective actions.
Manages a customer driven quality plant that ensures regulatory compliance to ISO and GMP requirements.
Responsible for all salary administration issues and all personnel related matters. Reviews and recommends change to current policies and procedures for applicability to present business plans.
Provides and establishes leadership climate for operations within business unit towards continue quality improvements and compliance with regulatory requirements as they apply to all business aspects.
Makes decisions based on understanding of multiple departments and their interrelationships.
Fosters relations with all applicable development group/effort to actively influence design and assembly criteria.
Manages operation to ensure achievement of CIP and OGSM initiatives.
Manages, motivates, and develops subordinates to achieve their full potential.
Responsible for developing and guiding all associates within their organization, including hourly associates and supervisors.
Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001)
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Engineering or Science concentration is preferred. Master’s degree desirable.
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Availability to various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Bilingual, English and Spanish.
Understanding of manufacturing shop floor and related computer systems
Strong analytical problem solving and interpersonal skills ability
Leadership and Negotiating skills

Technology management
Financial variance analysis
Customer-focused decision making
20% travel required, must be able to travel between Ethicon Locations (Manati and San Lorenzo) and other locations as required by the business.
