Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is searching for the best talent for a Vice President - Global Strategic Marketing, Biosurgery located in Raritan, NJ.

The MedTech Surgery Biosurgery $2B+ portfolio comprises advanced surgical solutions designed to help control bleeding, prevent leaks, and support tissue sealing and healing across a broad range of procedures. The portfolio includes adjunctive hemostats, sealants, and related technologies used in open and minimally invasive surgery to address continuous oozing, problematic bleeding, difficult-to-access bleeding, and potential re-bleeding risk.

Biosurgery plays a critical role in improving surgical efficiency and patient outcomes by helping surgeons handle intra-operative complications, reduce resource utilization, and advance standards of care in bleeding control and tissue management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Global Strategic Marketing to deliver above-market, profitable and sustainable growth for the Biosurgery Portfolio with accountability for the global P&L levers of revenue growth, gross margin and return on investment of strategic programs.

  • Provide decisive and accountable leadership in all areas of global marketing strategy related to customer insight, new product development pipeline, market segmentation, product positioning, KOL engagement, and competitive dynamics.

  • Drive pipeline prioritization and cross-functional resource alignment to realize both the short-term and long-term goals. Deliver project landmarks for key pipeline projects, implement cost improvement projects for profitability, simplify product portfolio for competitiveness, and deliver new product launch commitments.

  • Build cases for new product innovations and external opportunities and secure investment to implement the growth agenda.

  • Partner with BioSurgery teams to lead the development and delivery of an integrated innovation pipeline for harmonizing customer experience, reducing time to value for the advanced instruments portfolio, and gaining resourcing efficiencies.

  • Own evolution of short- and long-term vision for market and product portfolio strategies, informed by global insights from regional commercial organizations, customers, and key opinion leaders (KOLs)—communicate and gain strategic alignment across multiple categories and/or geographies for growth plans.

  • Work collaboratively with members and cross-functional leaders across Surgery BU, platform Operating Committee/Leadership teams, Regional and Market Leadership teams and other key partners.

  • Create and lead a world-class high performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion, and developing diverse pipeline of successful leaders.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years of marketing experience is required. Minimum of 12 years of business experience required. At least 5 years of prior leadership experience with people management responsibility is required.

  • Experience leading large teams, including leading and inspiring teams through change, and the proven ability to identify and develop talent is required.

  • Track record of leading innovative problem solving to identify important, non-obvious customer insights and translating those insights into solutions to meet evolving new business challenges in a sharply competitive market is required.

  • Proven ability to independently develop strategy and deliver results in the market via globally dispersed teams is required. Demonstration of this capability across multiple contexts (e.g., regional/global markets, product portfolios, external headwinds, etc.) strongly preferred.

  • Experience launching new products and knowledge of market research and analysis, including voice of the customer (VOC) for a global and diverse set of customers is required.

  • Strong strategic and analytic skills, and the ability to successfully navigate and influence a worldwide team of cross-functional partners is required.

  • Up to 40% travel, both national and international will be required.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated track record of increased marketing and commercial responsibilities is preferred.

  • Proven skill managing a diverse product portfolio in various stages of product life cycle and under different market conditions, across multiple platforms or sectors is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a large company P&L, franchise leadership, and/or experience in a GM role is preferred.

  • Experience in marketing programs to create new markets or market segments is preferred.

  • Cross-functional experience is preferred (i.e., Sales, Finance, R&D, etc.).

  • Medical device or healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$199,000.00 - $366,850.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
