Summary
The Sr. Manager, Global Transportation Business Process & Technology will lead and shape the transportation digital strategy, development and execution of the technology driven end-to-end solutions. This role is responsible for standardizing business processes, data management and transportation platforms and solutions to be deployed globally and across segments. Lead a team of direct and indirect reports, and external partners to drive alignment, performance, and efficiencies. Accountable for Business value realization and portfolio of investments and financials.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the Global Business Process Design for Global Transportation. Ensure key business processes and capabilities are designed and deployed in an integrated and effective manner within program timelines and scope. Lead efforts to create robust documentation for all business processes- Transportation Management System or 4PL TM Solution, Global Freight Audit & Pay, End-to-End Master Data Governance. Responsible for rolling out global shipping standard & technology for inbound freights
- Develop strategies and implement solutions that deliver real-time visibility and insights/analytics to global J&J supply chain movements through the Global Transportation Platforms. Accountable for the E2E business processes and capabilities (Regional & Inter-Regional Inbound as well as Outbound OTiF-D).
- Design, build and maintain solutions/platforms to enable highest degree of customer service and inventory management for all J&J business segments through real-time visibility, harmonized analytics and real-time business insights. Deep expertise in executing and managing programs that handle vast array of internal and external data sources, driving standardization to meet business requirements, achieving project objectives and ensuring effective integration of new systems and technologies. (X-Track, 4PL Control Tower Deployment BPO representation, TranSCend, Transport Master Data).
- Manage strategic relationships with technology vendors/partners to ensure successful implementation and operations of all solutions. Lead technology solutions that improve agility, responsiveness and effectivity of Global Transport operations. Interface with the internal and external stakeholders, vendors and suppliers to develop innovative solutions for visibility, reporting and predictive analytics to optimize cross regional transportation for all J&J sectors.
- Lead a team of high performing technical and transportation professionals ( multi-layer), maintaining a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Collaborate with Deliver leads and other supply chain partners and PMO’s to develop continuous improvement insights and drive continuous improvement for Strategic Transformational programs.
Other Duties
- Change Management: Drive change management initiatives by effectively communicating process changes, engaging stakeholders, and providing training and support to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with business process changes. Develop and implement robust controls, compliance measures, and quality assurance protocols to minimize operational risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Technology Enablement: Collaborate with IT teams to leverage technology solutions, automation, and digital tools to enhance process efficiency, data accuracy, and overall productivity.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices, leading process and technology innovation projects, and actively seeking opportunities to enhance business processes through benchmarking, industry research, and emerging trends.
- Partner with J&J Deliver Quality, and other areas, to ensure that activities are managed within the appropriate quality framework and comply with other Johnson & Johnson guidelines (RIM, Procurement Red Book, Travel Policy, Training, etc).
- Mentor and lead project teams responsible for execution of large-scale digital transformation programs like Lighthouse and TranSCend (all three sectors)
- Lead development of the Global Transportation technology roadmap and associated program interdependencies.

Required Minimum Education: 4-year Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
Required Years of Related Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Significant experience and end-to-end responsibility in successfully leading large, complex, cross-functional, multi-disciplined projects in the life sciences industry.
- Experience managing design workshops and gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into technology features is required. This includes end to end solution design and deployment of system solution.
- Experience working across multiple levels of business and IT partners and collaborating in a global, multi-functional capacity is required; experience working closely with shared services organizations is required.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, ability to analyze and design business processes is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP/ERP, TMS, WMS and other related systems to enable efficient and compliant freight movement.
- Ability to work independently and be self-accountable for flawless execution.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively under pressure and to complete the tasks required in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Capable to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects, varying in size, value and complexity.
- Proven track record in delivering results and progress within aggressive timescales.
- Able to drive business process improvements.
- Knowledge of business (Supply Chain and/or Healthcare business), Tech-based innovation (Technology Trends), Identify product features, design and deliver solutions to drive business outcome.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent collaboration and well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of people across multiple cultures and geographies.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$122,000.00 - $212,750.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
