The Manufacturing Project Specialist is responsible for driving improvements in the Operations areas using best practices, methodologies, Process Excellence tools, and Key Performance Indicators. This includes supporting the execution of projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and lean practices, and collaborating with support groups and transactional areas to reduce costs, inventory, and create flow aligned with customer demand.
Additionally, the Specialist will prioritize and track the progress of projects and initiatives, support statistical analysis, and contribute to employee engagement as a change management agent for new initiatives. These efforts are aligned with corporate objectives and utilize various tools and techniques, such as dashboards, scorecards, and visual factory methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support in continuous improvement and transformational project planning, development, and implementation using best practices and Process Excellence tools.
Support strategies for product cost optimization, including waste reduction, changeover and cycle time reduction, and streamlining product flow.
Conduct basic research on new technologies for potential application.
Identify and facilitate activities required for project completion.
Engage employees in a continuous improvement environment through Kaizen teams, generating improvement ideas, facilitating Process Excellence certifications, and other activities.
Support the maintenance of site/area metrics dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports. Assist in special initiatives aimed at improving the organization's competitiveness.
Coordinate Gemba walks, track identified actions, and monitor participation and progress.
Support Managers and Supervisors in day-to-day process activities.
Report any violations or deviations to immediate supervisor or compliance area officer.
Attend relevant education and training programs and promptly inform supervisor if there are tasks or duties for which proper training is needed.
Participate in projects, programs, committees, and special activities promoted by the company to achieve its strategic goals.
Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; focused degree Science, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Engineering, or related is preferred
Project Management, Statistical Analysis, and Process Excellence license, training, and/or certification is a plus
Experience and Skills:
Required:
A minimum of zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry, performing scientific and manufacturing activities and/or project management
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project
Create an environment that encourages teamwork, participation, and innovation to achieve results
Proven experience with effective presentation skills to prepare and deliver presentations to management and employees
Preferred
Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices, Regulatory Compliance, and Aseptic Techniques
Demonstrates Global Leadership Profile competencies based on their leadership level (Individual Leader)
Good knowledge of Safety and Environmental requirements
Work under pressure and handle multiple projects and priorities with a strong sense of urgency
Other:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Spanish, with excellent writing skills in both languages
Requires flexibility to work regular shifts, with occasional extended hours
Must have availability to travel domestically and internationally, occasionally, up to 10% of the time
