We are searching for the best talent for External Manufacturing Senior Manager for Ethicon Endo in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
Purpose:
The External Manufacturing Site Leader functions as the general manager for MD External Operations manufacturing site(s). The External Operations Senior Manager leads all aspects of the relationship with assigned external manufacturers to deliver reliable product supply and total cost efficiency while meeting or exceeding all customer service, compliance, and product requirements.
You will be responsible for:
Responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations of contract suppliers and/ or Strategic collaboration sites to ensure that products are available to meet customer needs. Runs costs and feasibility requests and vendor quotes. Identifies new suppliers and evaluates their capabilities. At this level, the position has a greater degree of impact on the business results
and, in some cases, responsibility for leading a group of professionals. Critical Success Factors or Scope or Responsibilities
o Establishes and implements policies, standards, guidelines, technology, and procedures for procuring materials and services.
o Develops a strong understanding of the process and all technical details for the product currently manufactured at the contract manufacturing facility.
o Oversee current technology transfer and startup activity at the third-party facility. Ensures that third party achieves commercial operations.
o Partners with vendors and contractors to ensure quality, reliable sources of supply and information.
o Defines and builds links with other partners to leverage opportunities for value creation. Runs prospective improvements, corrective actions, validations, and manufacturing scale ups at the site.
o Accountable for resolving all disputed purchases of goods and services for the protection of the company and with fairness to the supplier.
o Develops monthly metrics and data in support of the business. Ensures documentation, configuration, production, are in compliance with business and regulatory policies.
o Accountable for partnering with vendors/contractors to deliver yearly cost improvement commitments. Works with internal stakeholders to develop cost improvement opportunities and ensure execution of identified projects to deliver cost improvement commitments.
o Maintains awareness of current market trends and conditions that affect suppliers, cost of goods, pricing and may have operational or strategic implications for the company.
o Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next
management level
o Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
o For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
o Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
Qualifications / Requirements:
• The qualified candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years related experience. MBA or equivalent experience and APICS certification desirable.
Experience and Skills:
• Medical device experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in multiple subject areas of supply chain including External Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Project Management, Planning, Distribution, or Finance
• Prior experience in leading suppliers, negotiating contracts, and working on supplier agreements is preferred.
• Experience working in Manufacturing Operations, specifically in a GMP environment is ideal.
• Strong analytical/technical proficiency & competence, project management skills, and prior experience leading cross-functional projects is required.
• The successful candidate will be a proven self-starter with strong oral and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting across functional levels.
• Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification is preferred. Experience with the commercialization of new products is highly preferred.
• Internet and MS Office Suite proficiency is required. Prior knowledge of Planning systems such as ERP, MRP, and SAP is a plus.
