We are searching for the best talent for a Regional Business Manager to join our J&J Electrophysiology team. This position is remote based in GTA.
Purpose:
The Regional Business Manager (RBM) is responsible for leading a high-performing, multi-layered team across the Electrophysiology business. This role provides end-to-end ownership for regional business performance, including strategy development, execution, and talent leadership.
The RBM leads a team of over 20 employees, including Product Specialists/Sales Representatives, Clinical Team Managers (leaders of Clinical Account Specialists), and New Technology Specialists. This role requires strong leadership capability, including experience leading leaders, as well as the ability to operate effectively in a complex, clinically driven and highly competitive market.
Externally, the RBM builds and maintains strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), hospital administrators, and purchasing groups. Internally, the role partners closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Corporate Accounts, Medical Affairs, Customer Care, Finance, and Professional and Commercial Education to drive sustainable business growth.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 20+ employees, including people leaders, to drive strong commercial and clinical performance.
- Deliver regional business results, including top-line revenue, market share growth, and achievement of budget commitments.
- Develop and execute regional business strategies aligned with national priorities.
- Lead regional tender and RFP processes, including shaping strategy and overseeing submissions.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships; conduct business reviews to ensure contract performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Funnel market insights into strategic business planning processes including product launches, designing value beyond the product offerings, services, and other solutions, and drive those strategies through the organization to deliver long-term commercial success of the franchise.
- Close collaboration with marketing in creating new business proposals to grow the business.
- Gain market insights through interaction with customers, payors, and industry experts; develop a deep understanding of problems, needs, and translate into possible solutions.
- Define and execute long-term business growth strategy that drives increased sales, market share, and/or market growth opportunities.
- Contribute to investment strategy decision making.
- Analyze and report sales results against forecast to senior management as well as any adjustments made to business plans to ensure objectives are met.
- Review and manage portfolio relative to market demand and allocate resources according to the greatest opportunities for growth.
- Ensure that the New Technology Specialist has a robust plan for new technology roll out in the region, team training, and best-in-class clinical case coverage in all accounts.
- Focus on implementing innovative ideas and solutions for the customers in your region.
- Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales Enablement & Contracting Solutions Group, Finance, Customer Care, Medical Affairs, Professional and Commercial Education departments.
- Partner cross-functionally to develop and execute commercial initiatives and business proposals.
- Define resource allocation and investment priorities based on market dynamics and growth opportunities.
- Monitor and report business performance, adapting plans to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Ensure excellence in clinical support, including effective new technology implementation, team readiness, and high-quality case coverage.
- Build and sustain a strong talent pipeline and culture aligned with Credo-based leadership principles.
- Ensure full compliance with Healthcare Compliance (HCC) guidelines.
Qualifications
- University degree required, preferably in Health Sciences or a related field; MBA is an asset.
- Minimum of 8 years progressive business experience required.
- Minimum 4 years sales/marketing/business development/entrepreneurship experience is strongly preferred.
- People leadership experience required.
- Medical Device or healthcare industry knowledge in the Canadian Healthcare environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrophysiology, cardiac ablation procedures and technologies used is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to lead leaders.
- Proven success delivering growth and gaining market share in complex healthcare or medical device environments.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to build credibility and trust with customers, employees, and internal partners.
- High level of business acumen, with attention to both strategy and execution.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Travel requirement: approximately 30%.
The expected base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $189,750 CAD.
