The Director, Procurement Global Process Owner is responsible for shaping and driving end-to-end process strategy and enablement for the Procurement function. This role is pivotal in leading a forward-looking transformation to design, reimagine, simplify and digitize our processes in capabilities such as Spend Management Strategy (SMS), Source to Contract (S2C), Payments and Experience (PEx) and Procurement Services, unlocking limitless value for the organization. They will partner closely with key stakeholders in Supply Chain Procurement, Indirect Procurement and Global Procurement Services, and cross-functional teams (JJT, Legal, Digital and Analytics, HR, etc) to ensure related activities are synchronized to maximize business impact.
The leader will also be responsible for shaping and providing deep process expertise across the process life cycle and will play a significant role in the implementation of innovative technologies and processes for the capabilities in scope, ensuring that the future state design is best in class. The Director will influence and enable processes that impact $35 Billion of J&J spend across 35,000 suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape value case, taxonomy, data, organizational needs, and process design for capabilities in scope including assessment of end-to-end services that deliver net benefit to J&J through preferred solutions and demand management.
- Provide deep insights on current processes, landscape and challenges, and ensure that the new processes and solutions address current problems and create significant value for the enterprise.
- Assess technology landscape and partner closely with Procurement Digital & Analytics and Johnson & Johnson Technology to select innovative and disruptive solutions to support the rollout of new digital capabilities.
- Manage strategic stakeholders at the most senior levels; influence and collaborate to ensure alignment across a matrixed organization to drive outstanding transformation results for the enterprise.
- Drives forward looking changes for the process area and shape capability strategy, process design and enablement, product ownership, solution and technology selections, training, change management, communication, and relevant content.
- Promote continuous improvements in user experience, effectiveness, and efficiency within assigned areas.
- Supports development and implementation of automation and AI (Artificial Intelligence) initiatives within assigned area of responsibility.
- Creates value by developing strong, value-added working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers to proactively understand and constructively influence their needs and expectations.
- Identifies opportunities to shape and develop end to end integrated solutions across capabilities in scope.
- Collaborates with various departments in the development and execution of strategies and plans that improve the organizations profitability and competitive position, utilizing market intelligence, risk assessments, and total cost projections.
- If applicable, direct and mentor managers and senior individual contributors in a matrix environment, fostering meaningful career development discussions and regular coaching.
- Integrates Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
Qualifications
Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required.
- MBA or further advanced degree is desirable.
Experience and Skills
Required:
- 10-12 years of Procurement or other relevant business experience with minimum 5 years in a people management role.
- Strong knowledge and experience across Procurement processes such Spend Management Strategy (SMS), Source to Contract (S2C), Payments and Experience (PEx) and Procurement Services, and associated connections with JJT, Legal, HR, Finance, Indirect & Supply Chain Procurement, Global Procurement Services, and other relevant stakeholders
- Prior experience leading large teams in a complex matrixed environment and managing key internal and external stakeholders.
- Hands on, results-oriented and pragmatic leader with highly developed problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience working across geographies and business sectors.
- Ability to influence cross-functionally (Finance, Legal & JJT).
- Collaborative leader with a strong drive to create a positive and inspiring work environment, especially during times of change.
- Outstanding stakeholder management experience at the most senior levels, superior influencing and collaborating skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, consultative, communication, and facilitation skills.

Preferred:
- Understanding of procurement transitions and technology, including historical industry shifts.
- Experience in one or more Procurement Functional domains: Sourcing, Contracting or Category management.
Other:
- Requires up to 20% domestic and international travel.
