The Procurement Digital and Process Solutions team is seeking a Senior Manager, Market Movement Forecast & Market Intelligence to lead the strategy, roadmap, execution, and continuous improvement of market movement forecast and market intelligence capabilities that enable Procurement and business goals. This scope includes, but is not limited to, category intelligence, supplier risk intelligence, market movement forecasting, sourcing intelligence, and other insight capabilities that support Procurement and business decision-making.

The Senior Manager provides vision and direction for market movement forecast and market intelligence operations, ensuring the effective incorporation of company strategy, Procurement priorities, and business goals into market intelligence processes, tools, governance, and delivery models. The role is accountable for enabling predictive insights into cost, supply, supplier, spend, risk, complexity, and innovation dynamics across assigned areas.

This people leader manages individual contributors in a matrix environment and is accountable for effective performance management, meaningful career development conversations, engagement, motivation, and team development. The Senior Manager is also responsible for operational aspects of the team, including workflow, performance, compliance, and delivery of team goals within established timelines and budgets.

The role partners closely with Procurement teams, category leaders, supplier risk teams, sourcing stakeholders, business partners, Corporate Business Technology, Digital teams, and external providers to ensure insights are high quality, timely, actionable, and aligned with responsible supplier, procurement, and financial policy standards. Integration of Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and C.E.O. Leadership Behaviors into all activities is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy, roadmap, execution, and continuous improvement of market movement forecast and market intelligence capabilities, including but not limited to category intelligence, supplier risk intelligence, market movement forecasting, sourcing intelligence, and related insight services.
  • Provide vision and direction for the multiyear market movement forecast and market intelligence roadmap, ensuring alignment with Procurement strategy, Spend Management Strategy priorities, business objectives, and enterprise digital transformation goals.
  • Manage other individual contributors in a matrix environment, including performance management, coaching, career development, engagement, and team development.
  • Drive strategic business and industry engagement to establish reliable, resilient, and effective insight capabilities that inform category strategies, sourcing decisions, supplier management, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure effective incorporation of company strategy, Procurement goals, and business priorities into market intelligence processes, governance, tools, and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate expertise in industry dynamics impacting cost, supply, supplier, spend performance, risk, reliability, complexity, and innovation, taking a predictive approach to insight generation and decision support.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to assess insight needs, coordinate external provider support, evaluate tools and solutions, and enable adoption of market intelligence outputs across Procurement.
  • Steward financials, responsible supplier standards, procurement standards, and governance expectations within market movement forecast and market intelligence processes and outputs.
  • Oversee operational aspects of the market movement forecast and market intelligence team, including workflow, resourcing, performance, compliance, issue escalation, and achievement of team goals within established timelines and budgets.
  • Define and monitor metrics that demonstrate the value, effectiveness, adoption, and business impact of market movement forecast and market intelligence capabilities, providing periodic reporting to leadership.
  • Champion continuous improvement, automation, AI enablement, and digital solutions that improve the quality, speed, scalability, and usability of market movement forecast and market intelligence capabilities.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree is required.
  • A master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 8 or more years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Analytics, Market Intelligence, or other relevant business experience.
  • People leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, development planning, and leading teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing operations, supplier management, supplier risk, category strategy, and business engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate internal and external data into actionable insights that influence Procurement and business decisions.
  • Experience leading capability roadmaps, process improvements, governance models, or digital enablement initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, anticipate market shifts, and develop supportable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and change management skills.
  • Learning agility and willingness to drive change in a complex, global environment.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral, is required.

Preferred:

  • Healthcare, life sciences, or shared services industry experience.
  • Experience with market intelligence platforms, supplier risk tools, market movement forecasting processes, sourcing intelligence solutions, automation, or AI-enabled analytics.
  • Experience working with external providers, digital teams, and cross-functional business partners to deliver scalable insight capabilities.

Other: May require up to 10% domestic and international travel.
