We are searching for the best talent to join our team as the Senior Manager, Digital Employee Communications. This role will sit in our New Brunswick office location on a hybrid schedule.
The Senior Manager, Digital Employee Communications, will play a critical role in advancing the enterprise digital communications capabilities that power the One J&J employee communications strategy. Combining expertise in employee communications, digital technology, and AI-enabled solutions, this team member will partner closely with the Director Digital Employee Communications to help shape future capabilities while leading execution, governance, operations, and continuous improvement across enterprise communications platforms and services
This role is responsible for advancing enterprise digital communications capabilities and standards, including innovative email marketing, multi-media digital tools, AI-enabled communications solutions, measurement frameworks, automations, and enterprise governance. The role will help to continue to modernize how communicators plan, deliver, measure, and continuously optimize communications across the organization.
As the enterprise lead for email marketing strategy and digital communications enablement, this role will establish guidelines, expand enterprise capabilities, and be responsible for the delivery model that supports Global Corporate Affairs communicators. The Senior Manager will serve as a trusted advisor on digital communications technologies, automated measurement framework, AI-enabled solutions, and employee engagement strategies—helping partners leverage enterprise capabilities, apply data-driven insights, and enhance communications effectiveness.
Core Responsibilities:
Enable One J&J Employee Communications Strategy
Execute our digital tools enablement strategy, best practices and consistent usage guidance aligned with Enterprise Employee Communications vision.
Partner with the J&J Digital Employee Communications Director to implement digital governance standards, usage criteria, intake processes, and operational guardrails across approved digital communications tools and services.
Continuously evaluate emerging communications technologies, AI capabilities, and industry best practices and methodologies to improve employee experience, targeting, personalization, efficiency, and business impact.
Support digital tools’ lifecycle planning by monitoring adoption, license utilization, service demand, partner needs, risks, and emerging capabilities to inform future enhancements and investment recommendations.
Establish productivity measurement guidelines and reporting to measure adoption and usage of our digital tools and translate strategic direction into scalable processes, resources, and partner guidance.
Advance innovation
Drive innovation, speed, quality, and efficiency by enabling AI capabilities in digital tools.
Advance best-in-class email marketing capabilities including DL automation, personalization, A/B testing, cloud pages (opt-in or out), email voting/rating for two-way dialogue, etc.
Streamline workflows and reduce administrative burden through process excellence, automating manual processes, and smart integrations.
Evolve measurement & dashboards
Expand automated measurements capabilities, data sources and Power BI dashboards to provide insight into performance.
Publish annual internal and external benchmarks and derive actionable insights to guide content planning and performance optimization.
Run the Digital Services Model (DSM)
Implement end-to-end operations for the DSM providing high-quality full-service email marketing services with ≥99% accuracy (baseline 99%), license management, SFMC tenant management, and account management.
Liaison with communications leaders, educate business partners on our benchmarks and measurements, and serve as conduit to Enterprise team.
Own and update the Digital Employee Communications SharePoint site to showcase best-in-class tools, training resources, services, branded templates, resources, measurement insights to help communicators apply approved tools consistently and reduce dependency on full-service support where appropriate.
Renew DSM POs/SOWs/SaaS/MSAs, coordinate license requests, and ensure Airtable bases and interfaces are updated to provide live reporting to our business partners throughout the year.
Create, update and publish updated SOPs, documentation and user guides.
Key capabilities & qualifications:
A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in digital communications, marketing, or closely related field is required in a complex, global organization.
Advance knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud including Data Extensions (DE), personalization, A/B testing, voting/rating via cloud pages, etc.
Extensive experience working with digital tools including PoliteMail (or similar tool), Animaker or Piktochart, Poll Everywhere, Bitly, Smartsheet or Airtable, and MS suite of products. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Advance expertise in managing SharePoint publishing sites, permission settings, custom document libraries, content management, etc.
In-depth experience with Power BI dashboards, APIs, automations, GenAI agents and content management.
Experience working with emerging technology (i.e., Canva, Monday, etc.)
Demonstrated success in facilitating and resolving issues among customers.
Demonstrated experience translating strategic goals/concepts into action plans and implementing initiatives at an operational level.
Ability to handle competing, time-sensitive, high-priority demands; prioritizing workload, leading projects and multiple responsibilities against deadlines.
Thrives in fast-paced environments, is flexible, collaborative and deadline driven.
Outstanding written, presentation, oral and communication skills and the ability to effectively work with executives and senior leaders.
Experience developing programs from concept through to completion is required. Must have a proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships.
Experience partnering with and advising agencies and consultants, as well as handling budgets.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
