Job Title: Japan & North Asia Market Integration Specialist

Division / Department: Johnson & Johnson APAC IM Deliver / E2E Integrator Team

Scope:

This role supports Japan and North Asia market / cluster activities, with a primary focus on strengthening connectivity with HK, TW, and KR markets, gathering business insights, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting APAC Trade Operations Pillar activities.

Position Summary:

APAC IM Deliver organization strives to deliver exceptional customer experience through leading critical customer-facing and operational functions such as distribution, customer service, logistics, transportation, and trade operations across APAC markets. The APAC operating environment is diverse, with different market models, local regulations, business practices, operational structures, and stakeholder needs.

The Japan & North Asia Market Integration Specialist will provide operational, analytical, documentation, coordination, and process improvement support under the direction of the Japan & North Asia Integration Lead. The role is designed to strengthen sustainable support for Japan and North Asia markets while also contributing to key APAC Trade Operations initiatives, including governance model development, actions arising from the Global Trade Risk Assessment, and upcoming Global Trade Standard / compliance-related requirements.

Purpose of Position:

The purpose of this position is to support Japan and North Asia Trade Operations while contributing to the APAC Trade Operations Pillar. The role will help identify operational opportunities, clarify issues, support documentation needs, coordinate follow-up actions, and escalate insights and recommendations appropriately to enable sustainable regional support and governance.

This position is expected to work closely with market stakeholders, regional teams, Global Trade partners, and cross-functional teams. While deep trade compliance expertise is not required at entry, the role requires foundational supply chain experience, strong communication skills, learning agility, attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively in a matrixed and multicultural environment.

Key Interfaces:

The role will work closely with the Japan & North Asia Integration Lead, Japan and North Asia market Deliver Operations stakeholders, APAC IM Deliver E2E Integrator team members, relevant Pillar leads, Global Trade stakeholders as needed, and other cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities / Principal Duties:

1. Japan / North Asia Deliver Operations Support and Process Improvement

  • Support Deliver Operations activities across Japan and North Asia, with a primary focus on strengthening operational connectivity with KR, HK, and TW markets. Work closely with local and regional stakeholders to understand current operations, clarify issues, and identify operational pain points, process gaps, and improvement opportunities. Support practical process improvements, including simplification, standardization, and enhanced operational effectiveness. Prepare structured summaries and recommendations for review, prioritization, and escalation.

2. APAC Trade Operations Pillar Support

  • Support APAC Trade Operations Pillar activities, including Trade Risk Assessment follow-ups, Global Trade Standard / compliance readiness, documentation and governance support, and action tracking across relevant stakeholders. Assist in defining issues and improvement opportunities based on assessment outcomes, preparing follow-up materials, supporting action roadmap development, and helping establish sustainable documentation and review cycles such as SOPs, work instructions, and governance routines.

3. Communication, Stakeholder Engagement, and Market Visibility

  • Build effective working relationships with Japan, North Asia market stakeholders, and relevant cross-functional partners. Proactively gather market insights, understand local needs, and surface key themes in a structured manner to increase visibility of Japan and North Asia market requirements, strengths, and improvement opportunities within the APAC organization. Support activities that enhance the presence and contribution of Japan / North Asia markets across APAC Deliver Operations, including cross-market knowledge sharing, best practice deployment, and value creation through stronger market connectivity.

4. Overall Business Support

  • Provide overall business support to enable effective execution of Trade Operations and Trade Control priorities, including preparation of presentations, reports, action trackers, communication materials, and progress updates. Support governance routines, follow-up management, and decision-making by organizing information clearly, tracking actions, and ensuring timely communication with relevant stakeholders.

5. Flexible Operating Model:

  • As part of the APAC IM Deliver E2E Integrator Team, team members are expected to work flexibly across pillar areas, market support activities, and regional initiatives. Responsibilities may evolve over time based on business priorities, organizational needs, and individual development opportunities, enabling broader capability building and cross-functional experience across APAC.


6. Leadership / Behavioral Skills:

  • The role requires a proactive mindset to surface opportunities, risks, and issues with a continuous improvement approach. The individual should demonstrate strong collaboration and interpersonal skills in a multicultural and cross-market environment, communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at local, regional, and global levels, work effectively with ambiguity, ask effective questions, and structure information for escalation and decision-making. The role is also expected to contribute to a Credo-based culture and support a culture of compliance, quality, and safety.

Requirements:

Education and/or Additional Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent practical experience in Supply Chain, Deliver Operations, Logistics, Trade Operations, or related business operations may also be considered. Additional training or exposure to trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or regulated industry operations is a plus.

Experience and Functional Competencies:

  • Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Deliver Operations, Logistics, Trade Operations, or related business operations is preferred. Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a regional, cluster, or matrixed environment is preferred. The candidate should be able to understand operational processes, identify issues, gather business insights, and support practical improvement opportunities.
  • The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with local and regional stakeholders, ask effective questions, and summarize findings, risks, and recommendations in a structured manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills are important, with the ability to build effective working relationships across markets and functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also required, especially in documentation, action tracking, follow-up management, and preparation of business materials.
  • The candidate should be able to work proactively with limited guidance, while escalating issues and seeking alignment appropriately when needed.
  • The role requires comfort working in a multicultural and cross-market environment, including Japan and North Asia markets.
  • Business-level English is required. In addition, proficiency in either Japanese or Korean is required, depending on the location of the position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams, is expected.

Travel Requirement:

  • Limited travel may be require depending on business needs, market engagement, and regional meetings.
