We are searching for the best talent for a HEMA Capabilities Associate Director to support our Surgery business. The preferred location for this role is either Raritan, NJ or Leeds, UK. This role will work a Flex/Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week on-site.

Purpose: This role will be primarily responsible of developing a HEMA Training Curriculum on core HEMA competencies (especially evidence generation and dissemination, HEOR research methods and research compliance) for the entire HEMA MedTech function across the globe, in partnership with the BUs. This includes gathering and assessing the needs of the different HEMA teams, identifying the trainers and developing the training material with them, as well as delivering some training themselves. This part of the role also involves working with the J&J MedTech Learn organization.

In addition, as one of the few centralized HEMA roles in the new BU-led operating model, this position plays a critical role in strengthening connectivity and collaboration across the MedTech HEMA community.

You will be responsible for:

  • Being a resource to help HEMA associates navigate the organization, by providing a structured onboarding experience
  • Supporting the HEMA Council activities (Town Halls, HEMA Awards ..)
  • Supporting HEMA associates with HEMA research projects, Claims generation, Case Stories, especially on communication and compliance aspects
  • Developing and maintaining a centralized HEMA function SharePoint site that provides all available resources

The HEMA Capabilities Associate Director is also a key role within the HEMA Value, Analytics and Evidence (VA&E) team by:

  • Acting as a central point of coordination across the HEMA VA&E team
  • Creating and disseminating the HEMA VA&E activity reports
  • HEMA capability building and training
    • Run regular needs assessment and develop a complete MedTech HEMA Training Curriculum
    • Conduct ongoing capability and training needs assessments across the MedTech HEMA function
    • Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive HEMA training curriculum.
    • Coordinate and deliver training programs and competency development initiatives.
    • Identify and secure appropriate subject matter experts and resources.
    • Establish metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure training effectiveness and success.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required; Advanced Degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong scientific background, proven track record of HEMA successes, and direct/indirect people management experience.
  • Detailed understanding of the MedTech HEMA Competency Framework and proven track record in many aspects of it.
  • Understand the HEMA evidence generation objectives and its alignment to support market access, adoption and growth
  • Understanding of HEMA analytical methods, e.g., statistics and economic modelling. Ensure awareness of new and evolving digital techniques (e.g., Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Intelligent Automation (IA)
  • Use functionally appropriate methodologies to answer business questions and develop new business insights
  • Analyze, interpret, and synthesize data from a variety of sources
  • Define plans and execute projects on time and on budget
  • Ability to form multi-disciplinary project teams and ensure adequate resources are secure.
  • Assign deliverables, ensure schedules and deadlines are met, and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Communicate complex information clearly and confidently, using a storytelling approach, to influence the achievement of the best outcome for all stakeholders.
