Purpose:

The Solution Architect for SAP GTS and Transportation Management (TMS) is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving global trade compliance and transportation management solutions across the enterprise. This role serves as the primary technology and business process expert, partnering with business stakeholders, supply chain teams, logistics providers, compliance organizations, and IT teams to develop scalable, compliant, and efficient solutions.

The Solution Architect will lead end-to-end solution design, drive digital transformation initiatives, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards while supporting global logistics, customs compliance, trade operations, and transportation execution processes.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Define and maintain the technology roadmap for SAP GTS and SAP Transportation Management solutions.

  • Design end-to-end business processes integrating Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Logistics Execution, Warehouse Management, and Transportation Management.

  • Develop scalable architecture solutions that support global trade compliance, customs management, denied party screening, export controls, and transportation planning.

  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead architecture reviews and approval processes for new capabilities and enhancements.

SAP GTS Responsibilities

  • Design and support solutions for: Compliance Management Denied Party Screening (DPS) Export Control Management Embargo and Sanction Screening Customs Management Preference Management Trade Agreements and Duty Optimization

  • Collaborate with Trade Compliance teams to ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements.

  • Assess impacts of regulatory changes and translate requirements into solution designs.

SAP Transportation Management (TMS) Responsibilities

  • Architect transportation planning, carrier collaboration, freight settlement, and execution processes.

  • Support inbound, outbound, and intercompany transportation networks.

  • Design integrations with carriers, freight forwarders, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and external transportation networks.

  • Enable transportation visibility, tracking, freight audit, and performance analytics.

Integration & Digital Transformation

  • Design integrations between SAP S/4HANA, SAP GTS, SAP TM, EWM, ERP, external customs agencies, logistics providers, and third-party trade platforms.

  • Provide leadership on API, EDI, middleware, and cloud integration strategies.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and automation opportunities to improve supply chain visibility and compliance effectiveness.

Project Leadership

  • Lead solution architecture activities across strategic transformation programs and system implementations.

  • Partner with business process owners to define requirements and future-state capabilities.

  • Support project delivery teams through design, testing, deployment, and stabilization.

  • Mentor functional analysts, developers, and project team members.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish architecture standards, documentation, and governance processes.

  • Conduct solution assessments and identify opportunities for process optimization.

  • Ensure system performance, scalability, supportability, and compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP solution delivery and architecture.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP GTS and/or SAP Transportation Management.

  • Strong understanding of global trade compliance, customs regulations, logistics, and transportation operations.

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA integrations and supply chain applications.

  • Experience leading global deployments and transformation initiatives.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP GTS certification.

  • SAP Transportation Management (TM) certification.

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, EWM, IBP, or Logistics Execution.

  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs programs, and free trade agreements.

  • Experience with cloud integration platforms and API-led architectures.

  • Pharmaceutical, MedTech, Healthcare, Consumer Goods, or Manufacturing industry experience.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $122,000.00 - $212,750.00

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

    Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

    Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

    Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

    Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

    Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

    Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

    Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

    Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

    Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

    Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
