Purpose
As Shift Lead, you will provide operational leadership to the Environmental Monitoring (EM) and Logistics team during the weekend shift. You will ensure that planned activities are performed safely, on time, and in accordance with applicable Good Manufacturing Practice and quality requirements. You will set priorities, support team members, monitor progress, and serve as the first point of contact for operational questions and escalations.
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating daily weekend activities across Environmental Monitoring, Quality Control Logistics, and sample management, including work allocation and follow-up of the operational schedule.
- Coaching and supporting team members while promoting clear communication, collaboration, ownership, and a quality-focused culture.
- Ensuring that sample collection, receipt, identification, labelling, registration, storage, internal distribution, and transport are performed in accordance with approved procedures.
- Overseeing Environmental Monitoring activities and ensuring that required documentation and records are completed accurately, fully, and on time.
- Acting as the first operational point of contact during the weekend shift and escalating deviations, safety risks, capacity constraints, and other disruptions in a timely manner.
- Supporting deviations, investigations, corrective and preventive actions, change controls, audit and inspection readiness, and follow-up of assigned actions.
- Identifying and implementing improvements in safety, compliance, efficiency, digitalisation, and operational continuity, while ensuring a clear handover to the next shift.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, logistics, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or laboratory environment.
- Experience in Environmental Monitoring, Quality Control Logistics, sample management, or comparable operational processes is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating work, setting priorities, and supporting or leading colleagues.
- Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice, data integrity, safe working practices, and accurate documentation; knowledge of eLIMS or comparable laboratory systems is an asset.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under time pressure.
- Fluency in Dutch and professional proficiency in English, together with willingness to work a structural weekend shift in an on-site role.

The anticipated pay range and benefits for this position is:
Belgium- 61115 EUR to 82685EUR gross per year
