The Hematology Medical Affairs, Medical Excellence Fellow will gain valuable experience in the communication of scientific data to internal stakeholders and external healthcare professionals. Additionally, they will also manage key scientific evidence generation activities to support the development of the Hematology Medical Affairs, Medical Excellence Medical Affairs strategy, integrated evidence generation, and impact analysis. Overall, fellows will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and support marketed and investigational compounds within the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Hematology portfolio.

This is duration based role. It is a two-year fellowship starting in June/July of 2026

Fellowship Description

  • This two-year program offers experience in US Hematology Medical Affairs and will help prepare fellows to become proficient in the strategic and operational activities in support of Field Medical.
  • The fellows will be responsible for the development of externally facing resources, internal scientific training, and operational support of the Field Medical Team. The fellows will have an opportunity to support initiatives across the broader US Hematology Medical Affairs organization and interact with cross-functional partners in support of the JNJ Hematology portfolio.
  • Members of the US Hematology Medical Affairs Field Medical Team are recognized as product and therapeutic knowledge experts. We engage key external customers including population health decision-makers, collect insights, identify clinical investigators, communicate medical/scientific data, connect internal and external stakeholders, respond to medical information requests, serve as subject matter experts on internal cross-functional teams and more.

Hematology Medical Affairs, Medical Excellence Fellowship Specific duties and goals include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with US Hematology Medical Affairs Field Medical and Home Office colleagues supporting Medical Affairs initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and execution of Field Medical communication plans aligned with the broader Hematology Medical Affairs Strategy.
  • Supporting Hematology Medical Affairs in development of external presentations/resources, scientific content for medical congresses, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Assist with management execution of key internal meetings and gain experience in leading workstreams.
  • Become proficient in the development of internal medical training materials and educational programs.
  • Gain understanding different types of clinical trials conducted in Medical Affairs including company-sponsored studies, investigator-initiated studies, and real-world evidence studies.
  • Develop the required skills to synthesize information, generate insights, formulate solutions, present findings, and deliver impact.
  • Develop a working knowledge of medical affairs standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Attend relevant training courses and/or workshops (internal or external) to enhance professional development

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a Masters degree in a science or related field is required. Doctoral degree is preferred

Other:

  • May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel to other locations and sites
