We are searching for the best talent for Experienced Analyst, Trade Operations.
Purpose:
Play a key role in the controls and execution of Global Transportation and Trade Operations (GTTO) for new manufacturing site in Costa Rica (Epsilon Project), ensuring a state of art operating model for the all import and export operations under a Free Trade Zone and all Transportation flows to serve global markets in alignment with business strategy, considering multi-Franchise complexity, best in class performance and spend controls, enabling compliant with local regulations and J&J policies.
You will be responsible for:
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Implement and execute all import and export operations for Costa Rica Manufacturing Site, Medical Devices sector, including Equipment, Fixed Assets, Raw Materials, Work In Progress, Finished Goods, from the purchase order receptions until the product customs release, and delivery at warehouse at destiny, covering: international and inland transport arrangements, documentation gathering and validation, customs process ensuring: local regulations- free trade zone, tariff classification, import permits, certification of origin process, etc.
- Support logistics providers tender processes: For Brokerage and International Transportation services, gathering the operational requirements, volume, forecast, lanes mapping, providing inputs for negotiation, contract and elaboration of Service Level Agreement, setting up the purchase order/payment process and spend controls.
- Communicate with strategic internal stakeholders (Franchises, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Warehousing, Trade Controls, Health Care Compliance, Finance, etc) and external providers and authorities (originating companies, freight forwarders, customs broker, local customs authorities) to fulfill the project deadlines, operations lead times, quality, compliance and service level requirements.
- Guarantee compliance with local regulation/ free trade zone regime and J&J Policy, standards, and procedures; coordinate any regulatory / customs needs to ensure shipments 100% compliance with all local regulation. Implement solutions to streamline compliance procedures and minimize risks associated with cross-border transactions.
- Implement operational performance process through elaboration and review of import/export reports, indicators, periodic monthly reviews with logistics service providers thru Contracts, Service Level Agreements, KPIs monitoring.
- Collaborate with global/regional and cross-functional teams to leverage best in class operations, efficiencies compliance, digitalization and automation tools.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications / Requirements:
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- University bachelor’s degree in international trade, supply chain management, finance, laws or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (such as Certified International Trade Professional) are preferred.
- Minimum of 2- 4 years of experience in international trade management, with a focus on strategic projects, operations optimization, financial controls, and digitization.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES, AND AFFILIATIONS
- Strong understanding in Costa Rica of international trade regulations, customs procedures, transportation and trade compliance requirements.
- Project management skills, PMI or FPX Certification is a Plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications in international trade, customs compliance, or project management are a plus.
- Certifications in international trade, project management, or relevant technologies are a plus.
- English Language: min. 70% (written and oral).
