Director, Intranet Operations
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Director, Intranet Operations, this Hybrid position will be located in Raynham, MA (USA). Alternate Hybrid locations maybe considered at Raritan, NJ (USA).
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Job Overview
The Director, Intranet Operations is responsible for the strategy, governance, and operational excellence of DePuy Synthes’ enterprise intranet and internal digital workplace platforms. This role ensures the intranet delivers a consistent, secure, and user‑centered experience that supports internal communications, collaboration, and business execution across a global organization.
This position plays a critical role in shaping how employees access information, connect across teams, and engage with company priorities, while leading modernization and continuous improvement of intranet capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead the intranet operations strategy, roadmap, and governance model aligned to business and employee needs.
Oversee day‑to‑day intranet operations to ensure reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
Establish and enforce content governance standards, including information architecture, publishing processes, and lifecycle management.
Partner with IT, Communications, HR, and business leaders to deliver effective internal digital experiences and communication solutions.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of intranet and digital operations professionals, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
Manage vendor relationships and external partners supporting intranet platforms and services.
Use analytics and employee feedback to monitor intranet effectiveness and guide enhancements.
Ensure compliance with security, privacy, accessibility, and regulatory requirements across regions.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or a related field.
Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MS, or equivalent).
Experience and Skills
Required:
Typically requires 10 or more years of progressive experience in intranet, digital workplace, or enterprise platform management, including people leadership.
Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale intranet or internal digital platforms within complex organizations.
Strong background in digital governance, content strategy, and operational management.
Experience managing budgets, vendors, and third‑party service providers.
Preferred:
Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or comparable enterprise intranet platforms.
Experience supporting digital transformation or organizational change initiatives.
Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles and accessibility standards.
Experience working in global, matrixed, or regulated environments.
Background in healthcare, medical devices, or life sciences.
Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence across functions.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Other
Language: English proficiency required.
Travel: Up to 10–20%, primarily domestic with limited international travel.
Certifications: Relevant digital platform or product certifications preferred, not required.
