Under the direction of the Sr. Business Excellence Manager, carries out complex or novel assignments requiring breakthrough results with the use of Business Excellence DMAI2C techniques and Lean Manufacturing tools.
Responsibilities:
Understands business impact of his/her technical actions.
Track and trend data, identify and implement process improvements to improve business measures (waste and cycle time).
Oversee all aspects of the lean manufacturing initiatives including workplace organization, standardize work, set-up reduction, process work flow improvements and visual management.
Teach and mentor all levels to use BE Methodology and Lean Manufacturing tools and serves a consultant in Six Sigma/ DMAI2C/Lean principles to other personnel.
Lead or supports very complex and high impact BE Six Sigma, JJPS Opportunities and Lean projects. Support deployment of the JJPS (Johnson & Johnson Production System).
Develop capacity analysis based on machines and operations standards, routes, headcount requirement and utilization constraints, amongst others.
Develop and implement appropriate production routes.
Defines opportunities, analyzes data, designs manufacturing line flows, and improves business processes.
Develops strategy and execution plan to improve flow of products from suppliers to distribution centers for a value stream.
Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of Six Sigma/DMAI2C/Lean principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
Provide day-to-day coaching to BEx certification candidates to achieve expected business results.
Monitor and review critical to quality measures and present them to the plant staff team.
Oversee the development, implementation and management of layouts using Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Follows and observes all regulatory requirements (GMP’s, ISO, FDA, internal policies) applicable to area of responsibility.
Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’ degree in an Engineering field is required.
A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in a process improvement environment is required.
Experience in Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies is preferred.
Master’s degree desirable.
Availability to various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Practical application ability and/or working knowledge of project management and cost/benefit analysis.
Excellent analytical and statistical skills. Full understanding in Six Sigma Tools: Cause and Effect, DOE, FMEA, R&R, Process Capability.
Strong knowledge in lean manufacturing principles: Value stream Mapping, Kaizen, one-piece flow, kanban, line balancing, 6S and visual management
Demonstrate knowledge of factors against which production effectiveness is measured, including elements such as inventory effectiveness, (i.e. WIP), product quality, (i.e critical quality attributes) and other relevant metrics (OEE).
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific, technical journals, and financial reports.
Ability to write reports with technical emphasis.
