The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain, you will support the operational delivery of the National Scheduling team across Australia for the Orthopaedic Supply Chain. Working closely with leadership, Supply Chain teams and Commercial partners, you will drive daily, weekly and monthly cadences, solve operational problems, deliver actionable reporting, and lead continuous improvement across national scheduling. You will be accountable for driving best‑in‑class service levels, improving scheduling effectiveness, optimising loan kit movements and developing and supporting individuals in the scheduling team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the national scheduling team, ensuring seamless delivery across safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Act as first‑line escalation: resolve issues, monitor performance, and drive timely stakeholder communication.
  • Establish and run a weekly planning cadence, aligning priorities, resources and service targets across regions and partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root‑cause analysis, process optimisation, and adoption of digital and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Commercial and Clinical teams to ensure alignment and service excellence.
  • Lead, coach and develop the national scheduling team: set clear objectives, hold regular 1:1s, run performance reviews, and create career development plans.
  • Build capability through targeted training, mentorship and succession planning to create a resilient, high‑performing team.
  • Create an inclusive team culture that encourages ownership, continuous improvement and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Use people and operational metrics to identify development needs and prioritise coaching and resource allocation.
  • Be a visible leader for change: coach the team through process improvements and digital adoption while maintaining service and safety standards.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
