This role is responsible for driving operational excellence and digital transformation within the Manufacturing department by integrating Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization, and digital solutions, with a strong focus on the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The position aims to enhance overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, and team efficiency.
Acting from a manufacturing operations perspective, the role supports the implementation, deployment, and post-go-live support of MES, ensuring stable system operation and continuous enhancement. It also drives the optimization of manufacturing execution, ensures quality and compliance, and leads cross-functional continuous improvement.
The role bridges Manufacturing, Quality, and IT to enable process transparency, standardization, and traceability. In addition, it promotes Lean culture and methodologies, leveraging digital tools to enhance Lean execution and build a data-driven, efficient operating system.
- Support the implementation of the company’s overall digital strategy by identifying digitalization opportunities across manufacturing processes and driving the execution of automation and data-driven initiatives.
- Support the implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Coordinate cross-functional teams (IT, Engineering, Quality) to ensure timely delivery of MES projects.
- Responsible for daily operation, maintenance, and user support of MES and related digital systems. Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
- Provide training on MES and related systems, Develop and maintain SOPs for system operating, enhance system application capabilities within the team.
- After MES go-live, continuously gather and analyze business requirements from manufacturing operations and cross-functional stakeholders, and drive iterative system enhancements to ensure the system effectively supports operational efficiency and compliance requirements.
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and digital tools to improve efficiency, quality, and cost control.
- Lead or support Lean improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S) and drive their implementation.
- Promote and standardize the application of Lean tools and methodologies on the shop floor (e.g., standard work, visual management, TPM).
- Support production deviation management and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., deviations, NC).
- Support internal and external audits and drive remediation and continuous improvement. (OBS)
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
