Position Summary
This position reports to the Vice President of Finance LATAM and has a dotted-line reporting to the LA North Managing Director. The Finance Director role is part of the cluster leadership committee and is also a legal representative of the business in the country. The incumbent will be responsible for the financial leadership, direction, and management of the finance function. Represents and manages the business' financial position in the areas of income, expenses, capital usage and cash flow. The role is responsible for the leadership of 7 people including direct and indirect reports.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with local board members to drive consistent organizational excellence and provide optimal financial leadership to maximize value creation.
- Support business decisions in the areas of portfolio prioritization and execution including competitiveness and innovation, to drive efficient decision making and trade-offs to manage business performance (P&L and Balance Sheet).
- Enhance current practices and develops new solutions and strategies to strengthen the financial knowledge and operating performance.
- Maintain effective and transparent communication with the LATAM Leadership Team making sure they are properly informed about the operations results and the financial condition of the local operating company.
- Lead the preparation of business plans, forecast updates and long-term planning.
- Shape a culture that prioritizes identifying and leveraging emerging technologies, tools, and visualization techniques to generate insights, enable sound decision-making, and optimize value utilizing finance systems and processes.
- Identification of future opportunities to improve full suite of enterprise reporting and planning solutions.
- Lead improvement in Finance internal processes and standard procedures and drive continuous improvements and alignment (cross-sector, cross-country) with a digital mindset.
- Ensure financial processes and systems are in place in compliance with worldwide procedures, SOX and drives accountability throughout the organization.
- Be a member of Cluster Compliance Committee and leads compliance with regional and corporate requirements while promoting and living Our Credo. Ensures adequate processes are in place, documented, and tested to safeguard the assets of our entities. Ensures the organization complies with all company and external guidelines.
- Take a leadership role to develop and implement complex projects that drive value creation and have implications across the J&J organization. Align and influence all key stakeholders.
- Lead and influence the broader succession planning and talent management processes. Ensure staff members recruitment, coaching, and retention of top talent. Maximize the power of inclusion.
- Function as a legal representative of the company for legal and fiscal matters and is accountable for internal and external auditing results
Required Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: University/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
Required Years of Related Experience: Minimum ten years of applicable finance and/or business experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to navigate complexity and operate effectively within a matrix organization
- Proven people management capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence cross-functionally
- Ability to collaborate with local leadership teams, regional stakeholders, and external partners
