Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

We are searching for the best talent for Facilities Services Manager, Orthopedics.

Purpose:

This role ensures the consistent Safe & GXP compliant delivery of all facility related functions, including facility maintenance operations, infrastructure management, workplace experience, space management, efficient delivery of site services, maintenance and utilities operations, project delivery and energy management by applying an effective balance of internal employees and service providers.

Contributes to the Facilities Services team by leading Supervisors, leads, and/or individual contributors in a matrix environment, and is accountable for conducting effective performance management and meaningful career development conversations.

Collaborates with multiple departments on internal facilities services strategies and supports organizational objectives and business goals. Manages multi-family initiatives, timelines, approvals, and plans. Directs activities for strategic initiatives and serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Manages other leads, supervisors, and/or individual contributors in a matrix environment and is responsible for conducting effective performance management and fostering meaningful conversations about professional development.
  • Communicates the direction of Facilities and, in concert with site EHS professionals, EHS processes to managers, supervisors, and individual contributors and ensures that methods align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manages the department's facilities budget by collecting and analyzing expense data to validate expenditures related to materials and labor.
  • Ensure that business needs are met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives and ensure the 24/7 continuous operational readiness of our sites.
  • Responsible for managing the operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance) as well as ensuring the achievement of team goals within established timelines and budgets.
  • Integrates the Credo Johnson & Johnson and Leadership Imperatives into team objectives and decision-making.
  • Help establish and implement innovative programs and initiatives for Facilities.
  • Supports Soft and Hard Services leaders to ensure operational performance in accordance with J&J standards, best practices, and local regulations.
  • Supports maintenance and service activities (participation in Gembas, EHS safety walkthroughs, etc.).
  • Develop strategic and operational plans to achieve facilities Repair and Maintenance objectives and the position communicates these plans to managers, supervisors, and associates.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals and objectives for the Facilities Service function.
  • Responsible for managing the operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and regulatory compliance), as well as ensuring the achievement of team objectives within established timelines and budgets.
  • Proactively assesses and analyzes facilities and maintenance technologies, processes, and systems as part of a continuous improvement process.
  • This position participates in the site safety and environmental action plan.
  • Supports the Critical Equipment Excellence Program. Implements best practices, considers performance metrics, and leads staff to achieve world-class performance in critical asset management.
  • Estimates design and operating costs, forecasts, and develops a business plan for critical services, including facilities equipment, installation, labor, materials, setup, and other related costs.
  • Analyzes the cost-benefit ratio of replacing or maintaining assets and supports development of the sites facilities 3-5 year investment needs and plan.
  • Controls Utilities and Services Facilities department expenses and promotes proposals that add value by optimizing existing resources.
  • Possess the technical ability to provide sound interpretation of blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and civil and electrical drawings.
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next level of management.
  • Responsible for following all company guidelines related to health, safety, and environmental practices, as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage staff, this position is responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices and that all necessary resources to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed

Qualifications / Requirements:

Experience and education

  • 6 - 8+ years of experience in critical industrial services (chilled water, purified water, compressed air, HVAC systems, transformers, electrical panels and switchboards, variable frequency drives, control and automation).
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree in business administration, MBA, or Project Management (preferred).
  • 5+ years of related experience in building management systems and environmental management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience with certifications, project management, or relevant technologies will be a plus.
  • University degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or similar preferred.

Required knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications/licenses and affiliations

  • Project management skills. PMI or FPX certification (desirable).
  • In-depth knowledge of ANSI, NFPA, OSHA, and local codes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills that drive operational excellence, promoting a culture of compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • English: Bilingual (written and oral)
