Johnson & Johnson has announced plans to separate its Orthopaedics business to establish an independent orthopaedics company that will operate like DePuy Synthes. The planned separation is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to applicable legal requirements, including consultations with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as appropriate, as well as regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and clearances.

We are seeking the best talent: Automation Maintenance Technician II, Orthopedics.
Summary:
Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and operational performance across designated value streams. Perform maintenance and repair tasks, collaborate with Facilities and onsite contractors, and maintain accurate maintenance records to ensure compliance and continuous operations.
This role supports the Orthopedics business within J&J MedTech, contributing to the manufacturing of orthopedic implants used in knee, hip, and shoulder replacement procedures by ensuring the optimal performance of critical production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
In accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as Johnson & Johnson corporate procedures and guidelines, this position:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains manufacturing equipment which may include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
Assists with the installation, setups, and changeovers of machinery.
Tests and adjusts as needed.
Makes routine repairs to malfunctioning equipment.
Assists in the implementation of process improvements.
Maintains a lot of activities carried out on equipment i.e. actual hours, work, spare parts used, equipment downtime etc using the site Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Assist with trouble report preparation for malfunctioning equipment.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Works with MRO and partner functions on to identify parts and supplies in accordance with department procedures.
Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures and other duties.
Experience & Education
· Technical Certificate
· At least 3 years of work experience
. English B1, Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish across functions and both internally/externally.
Required, Knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications/licenses and afiliations.
Required:
Ability to learn and adhere to specific procedures according to the department training plan
Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Website navigation required.
Able to work in a Clean Room environment requiring gowning.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to support cross functional teams including Quality, Operations & Engineering.
Preferred
+6 months’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
1-6 months basic experience with automation including highly complex mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, PLC, and motion controllers, vision systems preferred
Training in machining operations and/or electrical/electronic.
The ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics preferred.
