The Product Director, Marketing Engagements & Education will play a critical leadership role in advancing how US Oncology Hematology engages, educates, and aligns with key stakeholders across the oncology ecosystem. This leader will shape the strategy and operating model for high-impact education and engagement programs that support business priorities, strengthen execution discipline, and enable cross-functional teams to deliver with consistency, compliance, and excellence. This is an opportunity for a proven people leader and strategic operator to lead a highly visible function, build strong talent, manage meaningful budgets and vendor partnerships, and translate complex business needs into simple, actionable plans that drive enterprise alignment and commercial impact.
This position sits within the Strategy & Operations team in the Janssen Biotech commercial organization. The team leads Marketing Engagement & Education, Strategy & Execution, and Congresses and Conventions across the portfolio. The Product Director will lead the Hematology pillar of the Marketing Engagements & Education Team (MEET), with responsibility for strategy, operating model design, process discipline, budget stewardship, vendor oversight, and people leadership across speaker bureau, sponsorships, advisory boards, fee-for-service, and purchase order coordination. The successful candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented leader who brings operational rigor, strategic judgment, executive communication skills, and the ability to align senior stakeholders across a complex matrix. This leader will partner closely with Brand Marketing, Sales Training, Medical Affairs, Health Care Compliance, Legal, Quality Assurance, North America Pharma Affiliates, Alliance Management, Communications, Corporate teams, and external vendors to deliver key commercial activities with excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Hematology pillar of MEET in partnership with the Director, Marketing Engagements & Education, with accountability for strategy, operating discipline, and executional excellence across speaker bureau, sponsorships, advisory boards, fee-for-service, and purchase order coordination.
Set a clear vision for MEET Hematology, translate strategy into actionable priorities, and provide strong people leadership through coaching, performance management, talent development, and team engagement.
Serve as a trusted strategic partner to Hematology Marketing and Sales Leadership, ensuring priorities are aligned, decisions are clear, and execution is connected to business objectives.
Lead budget stewardship, vendor management, and internal and external stakeholder engagement with disciplined oversight of planning, spend, prioritization, issue resolution, audits, escalations, policies, procedures, and training.
Partner with the contracted business partners to hire, performance manage, and develop contracted colleagues supporting sponsorship, advisory boards, fees for services and purchase order coordination activities.
Collaborate with Commercial Excellence, Compliance, Legal, JJIT Speaker Bureau Therapeutic Area Leads, and the single-source Speaker Bureau vendor to enhance speaker bureau processes, policies, and systems across JJIT.
Operational Excellence: Lead disciplined execution of Hematology Speaker Programs and Sponsorships in accordance with J&J standard operating procedures. Apply strong operational judgment, attention to detail, risk management, and continuous improvement discipline to strengthen quality, consistency, and efficiency. Identify opportunities to improve policies, procedures, technology, and resources that support speaker bureau, sponsorships, and lifecycle management initiatives. Partner across MEET leadership and Solid Tumor counterparts to standardize processes where appropriate across Hematology, Solid Tumor, and PS&E Marketing.
Strategic Project Management: Develop and manage integrated timelines, action plans, governance routines, and decision pathways with Hematology cross-functional partners to ensure all deliverables are achieved with quality and accountability. Synthesize complex inputs into clear recommendations and decision-ready updates for senior leaders. Oversee speaker training, meetings, event coordination, communications, registration, calendar management, program logistics, budgets, administrative activities, tactical deployment, and external agency execution.
Enterprise Alignment: Drive alignment on speaker program and sponsorship priorities across Brand Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Thought Leader Engagement, Health Care Compliance, Legal, Sales, Sales Training, Business Analytics, Strategic Customer Group, Medical Affairs, North America Pharma Affiliates, Alliance Management, Communications, Corporate teams, and external vendors. Clarify decision rights, surface risks and barriers, and execute practical solutions that advance enterprise priorities.
Stakeholder Experience: Identify and implement innovative, industry-leading practices that enable consistent, effective, and impactful experiences across speaker programs and sponsorship engagements. Assess current tools and resources, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and evaluate new capabilities that enhance execution for the US Hematology Oncology organization.
Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to legal, regulatory, medical education, and procurement compliance requirements.
Develop broad enterprise leadership capabilities through exposure to marketing, operations, compliance, field engagement, vendor partnerships, and cross-functional business priorities.
Bring a forward-looking mindset that challenges the status quo, elevates ways of working, and strengthens how the organization operates and delivers impact.

Qualifications
Required:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive pharmaceutical or healthcare commercial experience is required, with experience in Sales, Sales Training, Professional Education, Operations, Brand Marketing, and/or Sales Management.
Practical knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing, FDA regulatory and legal requirements, and HCC regulations is required.
Ability to assess brand and portfolio needs in partnership with business leaders and translate strategy into education solutions that support enterprise priorities.
Experience developing and executing Marketing Engagements & Education strategies across speaker bureau, sponsorships, advisory boards, fee-for-service, and purchase order coordination.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale programs, competing priorities, and complex operational workstreams simultaneously.
Proven budget management and financial stewardship experience, including planning, vendor oversight, resource prioritization, and disciplined tracking of spend against business priorities.
Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, develop concise recommendations, and secure alignment with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, talent development, performance management, engagement, and building high-performing teams.
Ability to lead strategically through influence, operate effectively in matrixed and ambiguous environments, and simplify complexity into clear strategies, actionable plans, and aligned leadership decisions.
Ability to identify, establish, and grow relationships with third-party partners whose capabilities complement internal core competencies.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal flexibility and ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
Preferred:
MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
Oncology experience.
Experience working across sales, marketing, training, and/or medical education.
Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and sharing best practices.
Knowledge of internal systems, including Totality, ARIBA, IMPROVE, iMedical, and CentrisDirect.
This position is based in Horsham, PA, with a hybrid expectation of 3 days per week in the office and up to 15% U.S. travel, with limited international travel.
