The Americas Deliver Planning Lead is accountable for driving end-to-end flow optimization and lane-level planning execution across the Americas distribution and transportation network primarily focused on the LATAM market. This role ensures optimal freight flow design, distribution capacity alignment, and cost-to-serve performance through advanced analytics, scenario modeling, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Lead enables enterprise decision-making by translating demand and supply signals into distribution and lane-level plans (0–24 months), optimizing mode mix, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities across inbound and outbound flows.
This role can be located at a Johnson & Johnson site within the United States (NJ, PA, CA, FL, TX, or Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), or internationally in Markham Canada, or São Paulo, Brazil.

Key Responsibilities
Supply, Capacity Planning
- Lead Deliver supply and capacity planning across owned and 3PL distribution centers and transportation partners primarily focused on the LATAM region
- Ensure accurate and timely visibility of capacity constraints, risks, and trade‑offs across the Deliver network.
- Support regional Deliver teams in executing capacity and labor plans aligned to business priorities.
- Execute Deliver planning scenarios and trade‑off analyses to support enterprise decision‑making.
- Represent Deliver planning outcomes in monthly operation forums and leadership discussions.
Flow & Lane Planning
- Lead lane-level planning across inbound and outbound flows, ensuring alignment between forecast, capacity, and execution.
- Identify and proactively mitigate lane bottlenecks and capacity constraints ahead of demand peaks.
- Coordinate with carriers and 3PL partners to align capacity with forecasted volumes.
Product Distribution Strategy & Flow Governance
- Establish and lead a structured, recurring process to define and manage how products flow through the existing distribution network (manufacturing → hubs → local DCs).
- Translate global network design into scalable, executable flow rules across Surgery and EP/NV portfolios.
- Define and govern product flow segmentation strategies, including differentiation for fast vs. slow movers to optimize service, cost, and inventory positioning.
- Define and standardize the role of primary hubs, secondary hubs, and local DCs (large vs. small) within the network.
- Implement a recurring governance cadence to review and update product flows (e.g., new products, node additions, demand shifts).
Scenario Planning & Decision Support
- Develop scenario-based lane and contingency plans for disruptions (e.g., node outages, volume variability).
- Provide clear insights on cost, service, and capacity tradeoffs across distribution capacity flow decisions.
- Translate analytics into actionable recommendations for leadership forums and planning cycles.
Capacity & Performance Management
- Monitor and manage lane capacity utilization and DC storage utilization vs. plan and identify improvement opportunities.
- Track and optimize SG&A warehousing and COGS freight spend, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
- Identify and quantify flow optimization opportunities across the network.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Regional Deliver, Transportation (D&T), GTTO, Business Unit Supply Chain Planning, carriers, and 3PLs.
- Influence stakeholders through data-driven insights on flow performance, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Support alignment between network strategy, IBP, and operational execution
Scope & Accountability
- Owns:
- Execution of Deliver Operations Planning activities
- Deliver supply, and capacity planning outcomes
- Lane-level planning and flow optimization across Americas network
- Mode mix optimization and freight routing strategy
- Scenario modeling and contingency flow design
- Does Not Own:
- Day‑to‑day operational execution in distribution or transportation
- Enterprise network design
- IBP governance frameworks (provides input and analytics support)
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, transportation, or network optimization
- Experience in flow optimization, lane planning, or transportation modeling
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization
Preferred:
- Experience in multi-region distribution and logistics networks
- Strong capabilities in analytics, scenario modeling, and decision frameworks
- Expertise in network optimization tools, freight modeling, or advanced analytics platforms
- Ability to translate strategy into scalable, executable planning solutions
Other:
- This position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel.
Desirable:
- APICS/CSCP/CLTD/CPIM and/or Lean Six Sigma; degree in Supply Chain/Operations/Engineering
- Supply chain experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- Deep understanding of financial processes.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$94,000.00 - $151,800.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
