Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for GS Jr. Analyst Accounting. We are looking for a motivated finance professional early in their career who is eager to learn, develop accounting expertise, and contribute to the critical Inventory and Cost accounting processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, accountability, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset while working in a global and collaborative environment.

The Inventory & Cost Accounting Junior Analyst is responsible for supporting the execution of accounting activities related to Inventory, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and Fixed Assets for assigned legal entities.

This role participates in month-end close activities, account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, analysis of financial transactions, and compliance controls to ensure accurate financial reporting. The position works closely with Finance, Supply Chain, and other teams to support daily operations while gaining expertise in accounting processes, systems, and controls.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Support daily accounting activities related to Inventory, COGS, and Fixed Assets.
  • Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities according to established timelines.
  • Prepare and support journal entries, accruals, and account analyses.
  • Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
  • Review accounting transactions and support the resolution of discrepancies and variances.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure activities are performed in accordance with Johnson & Johnson policies, SOX requirements, and accounting standards.

Compliance & Controls

  • Execute internal controls and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Follow worldwide accounting procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Escalate accounting or compliance concerns to senior team members when needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize operational activities.
  • Support implementation of new tools, reports, and process enhancements.

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and other business partners to resolve operational accounting issues.
  • Provide support for inventory and cost-related accounting inquiries.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance Operations, Shared Services, or related areas.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial close processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Basic SAP knowledge or experience working with ERP systems.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.
