DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Copy Approval Content Specialist for Joint Reconstruction located in Warsaw, IN. This role will report into the Joint Reconstruction Marketing Services Team. There is a pre-identified candidate for this role.

The Copy Approval Content Specialist serves as a key partner to the Joint Reconstruction, ensuring promotional and non-promotional materials are reviewed, approved, and distributed in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and healthcare advertising standards. This role collaborates closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and Communications teams to facilitate efficient review processes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills, attention to detail, knowledge of healthcare marketing regulations, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Copy Review & Approval Management

  • Manage end-to-end copy approval workflows for Joint Reconstruction marketing, digital, and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate reviews through Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and other required stakeholder groups.
  • Validate accuracy of claims, references, disclosures, and supporting documentation prior to approval.
  • Maintain approved content repositories and ensure version control across all materials.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Marketing teams to provide guidance on approval requirements early in content development.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for copy approval processes and system-related questions.
  • Collaborate with agency partners and internal content creators to ensure materials are submission-ready.
  • Facilitate alignment among stakeholders to resolve review comments and expedite approvals.

Process Excellence

  • Drive efficient review cycles and identify opportunities to streamline approval workflows.
  • Monitor project timelines and proactively manage risks that may impact launch schedules.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, job aids, and best practices.
  • Support business adoption of copy approval systems, tools, and processes.
  • Recommend actions to improve efficiency, compliance, and stakeholder experience.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality checks on approved materials prior to release.
  • Ensure documentation and approval records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Stay current on evolving healthcare advertising, promotional, and compliance regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in healthcare marketing operations, copy approval, regulatory review coordination, or related functions.
  • Experience working within highly regulated healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review processes.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting orthopedic, medical device, or Joint Reconstruction portfolios.
  • Experience with content review and approval platforms
  • Experience working with external agencies and creative development teams.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
