Senior Reliability Engineer
Are you an experienced Reliability Engineer with a passion for improving asset performance, reducing operational risk, and driving long-term reliability strategies in a highly regulated manufacturing environment? We are looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer who combines technical expertise with analytical thinking, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
You will join the Geel GET (Global Engineering & Technology) Maintenance & Reliability team at the Johnson & Johnson site in Geel, Belgium, our largest manufacturing site for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). We support the reliable production of innovative, life-saving medicines for patients around the world. Together, we ensure that our manufacturing operations continue to perform safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and facilitate complex equipment failure investigations to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions that prevent recurrence and improve asset reliability.
- Analyze maintenance, operational and process data to identify reliability trends, performance gaps, and technical bottlenecks. Partner with GET and operational leadership to translate these insights into asset improvement strategies and long-term capital investment proposals.
- Drive the optimization of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs by challenging the existing maintenance strategies and identifying opportunities to improve equipment availability, reliability and lifecycle performance.
- Develop and implement technical improvement initiatives across the site, applying reliability engineering best practices and representing the Maintenance & Reliability team within multidisciplinary project teams.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Master's degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Physics..), or equivalent qualifications and experience demonstrating a strong technical foundation in manufacturing, maintenance, or reliability engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Asset Management, or a related technical discipline. Experience working in GMP-regulated environments is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into practical recommendations.
- Good understanding of reliability engineering principles, maintenance optimization, and asset lifecycle management, with experience applying methodologies such as RCA, FMEA, RCM, and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues in Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Quality
- Proficiency in Excel and CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent). Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Python, or similar analytics tools is an advantage.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

€72.500,00 - €115.230,00Benefits:
