Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading a potentially transformational molecule in clinical development for prostate cancer, supported by compelling early clinical data and advancing rapidly into registrational studies. As a strategically important growth opportunity within the global J&J prostate cancer portfolio, the asset has the potential to address significant unmet patient needs, establish a differentiated treatment paradigm and create substantial long-term value.

The Director, Global Commercial Strategy will serve as the commercial asset strategy lead for a clinical stage asset in Prostate Cancer, shaping the asset's indication-expansion, lifecycle-management, and data-generation strategies to maximize global patient impact and enterprise value. Working at the intersection of Commercial, Medical, Market Access, R&D and regional organizations, this leader will translate complex clinical, competitive and market insights into differentiated development priorities, compelling value propositions and robust commercial forecasts. The role will influence critical investment and portfolio decisions, align global and regional stakeholders around an integrated compound strategy, and mobilize a broad cross-functional network to accelerate development, strengthen launch readiness and optimize the long-term value of the J&J prostate cancer portfolio.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the global commercial asset strategy for a clinical stage asset in Prostate Cancer across lifecycle and indication-expansion planning, and evidence-generation priorities, including the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan. Define the differentiated treatment opportunity and translate patient, customer and market needs into development choices that maximize launch potential, global adoption and long-term asset value.
  • Lead enterprise-wide engagement with regional organizations to synthesize commercial, medical and market access insights into an integrated global compound strategy. Build alignment on priority indications, target-product profiles, evidence requirements and market-shaping investments while ensuring regional needs inform development and launch-readiness decisions.
  • Co-create a cohesive compound-development and market-shaping strategy with Global Medical Affairs and Market Access leaders, integrating clinical, scientific, payer and customer perspectives. Anticipate evidence and access barriers, shape solutions early and ensure the asset's clinical program supports a compelling and differentiated value proposition.
  • Direct cross-functional commercial assessments with Analytics, Finance, Competitive Intelligence and other partners to quantify opportunity, risk and strategic trade-offs. Develop differentiated value propositions, global forecasts and valuation scenarios that inform portfolio prioritization, governance discussions and investment decisions.
  • Mobilize a broad matrix of partners, including R&D, Data Science, Supply Chain and launch-readiness functions, to convert strategy into disciplined execution. Establish clear priorities, decision points and accountabilities; resolve cross-functional issues; and deliver critical initiatives on time with measurable business impact.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a strategic, enterprise-minded leader who combines strong commercial judgment with scientific and clinical fluency. This individual must be able to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority, lead high-performing cross-functional teams and drive timely decisions in a complex, ambiguous and rapidly evolving environment. The role requires the ability to synthesize technical, clinical, regulatory, payer, competitive and market evidence into clear strategic choices; challenge assumptions constructively; communicate compelling recommendations to governance and executive audiences; and translate strategy into accountable execution.

  • Bachelor's degree and post-graduate degree in bioscience related fields (MS, PhD or PharmD) are required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive pharmaceutical, biotechnology or closely related healthcare experience is required, including demonstrated accountability for high-impact commercial or portfolio decisions.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex clinical, regulatory, market access and competitive information and translate it into clear commercial implications, strategic recommendations and investment choices is required.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams, influencing without authority, building alignment across global and regional stakeholders and driving decisions amid ambiguity is required.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, scenario planning, asset valuation and portfolio trade-offs, is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional executive communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills, with experience influencing senior leadership and governance forums, are required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% annually is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology asset development and commercialization experience, ideally spanning global and major-market roles; prostate cancer experience is strongly preferred.
  • MBA degree strongly preferred.
  • Five or more years of in-line, strategic or global oncology marketing experience, with a record of shaping differentiated brand, indication or lifecycle strategies.
  • Experience supporting a late-stage or in-line asset, major launch, indication expansion or market-development program, including cross-functional launch-readiness planning.
  • U.S. in-line marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience engaging external experts and translating customer, patient and competitive insights into commercial and evidence-generation strategies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex, senior-level matrix teams is preferred.
